    Bold horse that's gotten spooky

I had a mare get more sensitive and unpredictable in the early stages of EPM. This was years ago and I believe the prognosis is better now?

    What show halter to use?

I have an amhr mare that moves western. She is flat kneed and goes very level. She would not be competitive in a rated/sanctioned show in halter. But, I would like to show her at the county fair in halter and show her at her best. I think she can compete at that level. It would make sense...

    Quarter Method for Showmanship

You can find it in the ASPC/AMHR rule book. It is on line and I have no idea why I can't get rid of the "underline."

    Quarter Method for Showmanship

That is a good point Flying Minis. The size of the horse would make a difference. I'm starting to change my mind about the idea of a rule change. This has been something I have thought about for years. Now I don't have to think about it anymore......................

    Quarter Method for Showmanship

Thank you oakrunfarm.......................... I did not know the reason for the quarter method. I just thought going there to keep it consistent with the other breeds would be helpful. Mostly for the youth.

    Quarter Method for Showmanship

My interest in this only relates to the youth.........showmanship is NOT for me!

    Quarter Method for Showmanship

My attention to this issue is because we tend to crossover to 4-H, pinto etc. I don't see where that is anything but good to promote ASPC/AMHR. But maybe my concern is not relevant to our club.

    Quarter Method for Showmanship

Still thinking about this Minimor, even if we have a personal preference do we still want to think about what is going on outside our club. It will be interesting to see if others have an opinions or care. :-) Any judges out there that can help us with insight?

    Quarter Method for Showmanship

You could be very right Minmor :-) It just seems that most have moved the other way. But we sure don't NEED to be like the rest :-)

    Quarter Method for Showmanship

Is it about time for ASPC and AMHR to join the rest of the world and go to the quarter system? I have thought about writing a rule change proposal for several years now. Yes, it is OUR club and we need to do what is best for us. There is also something to be said about our club looking "up...

    Vintage Pony/Mini books......

I am hoping that my skills allowed me to post pictures of my book collection. My daughter has been giving the books to me as gifts for the last several years. These might bring back memories to some of you. The illustrations in the books are completely charming.

    Info/Danger of Chicken Feed ?!

I think that the bad stuff is the ground fine stuff like laying mash. It hardens in the stomach. My niece's horses got into some and the vet was quite worried. The vet did work the horse through it ;-) This reminded me that when I was a child my parents would not buy grain for my horses so I...

    short legs

Ok, I think the foot rail is a good idea for her. I didn't think of that. It's a nice Jerald show cart. Thank you!

    short legs

My granddaughter is getting ready to show in her first driving class. Her legs are too short to reach the floor of the show cart. What do you use to place children's feet on? I'm trying to think of something that will stay in place and not bounce around that I can put in the basket? Maybe...
