    Vacation plans?

Going for a 2 week trip to England and Scotland in September, with my twin brother and mom; my mom is from Glasgow and my bro and I have never been. Very excited! I'm either going to Costa Rica or Jamaica for Christmas, with my friends or my sis respectively. Then (don't hate me lol), Kev and...

human babies - not among my favorite things

I don't mind babies. I think they're cute, but I'm more than happy to say hello and then give them back to their parents. Never had a desire for kids. It's a bit of an issue with my partner and I; he's always wanted a kid/kids (to pass the farm on to etc.). Lots of issues that I won't get...

Finally Started to Build a Website for our Berners

So, I've finally started building a website on webs.com. After getting Hudson (our future stud) two months ago I thought I should put together a website. Oh, and I suppose I haven't shared our little man on here...I'll have to do that ;). He's wonderful; I couldn't have picked a sweeter...

Do you turn out your Minis on wet/cold days????

My horses were stalled at night and my one girl, Lexus (RIP), needed a blanket once the temps dipped below 0C (she would actively, violently shiver without a heavy blanket); she was made for Florida temps., not Canada lol (her "winter" coat was akin to a Thoroughbred's winter coat). So...yes...

    Deworming problem

Just an FYI. You can get both pyrantel pamoate and fenbendazole (Safeguard) as suspensions in various sizes of bottles; much more economical than those pastes. The only paste I used was the Eqvalan Gold (Ivermectin/praziquantel) twice/year.

    Update on mini horse death.

Good Lord! Where do you live? That's like living next to a serial killer :/

    Deworming problem

I'm in Ontario and I always dewormed for tapeworms in the fall (after the first frost) with Eqvalan Gold. If you don't do it, you'll have a pretty unhealthy looking horse eventually (and that can lead to many other problems). Also...you should be deworming, at the very least, 4 times/ year.

What is with the snakes this year???

Marsha...Australia is home to 140 species of land snakes and 32 species of sea snakes. They harbour many of the most venomous snakes on the planet including the Taipan, the Eastern and Western Brown (which will actually chase you down), and the Death Adder :/

Anyone been watching certain other new 'mini-series' made for TV?

For those that don't know, you can catch up on whole seasons online ;). I use primewire.ag (used to be letmewatchthis.ch). It's actually where I watch all my cable shows (Breaking Bad, Dexter, True Blood, The Walking Dead etc.), as we don't have cable. I caught up on all seasons of Breaking...

New to mini horses, lots of questions!!

So frustrating to read this. I wish you were having an easier time. That seller was very irresponsible to sell two stallions to a buyer with little to no experience with horses. I hope you get the help you need.

New to mini horses, lots of questions!!

Hi...I'll just add my 2 cents on laminitis/founder, since I, too, unfortunately experienced this in the past year. First off, Laminitis is the swelling of the laminae of the feet (usually the front, but it can happen in all 4). Founder occurs when there is rotation of the coffin bone from the...

How do you all handle difficult family members?

I would tell your brother STAT! And I'd also ask him what he's doing with a manipulative, over-bearing whack job like that. She sounds like a selfish bitch!
