    Update on the goats

Happy to hear your goat(s) are better. Most people don't think they have sensitive stomachs, but indeed they do. Our old girl crossed the rainbow bridge about a month ago. She ate grass hay up until the very minute she died. She had to be at least 14 years old-(maybe more). Tons of happy...

    Teaser Stallions

There is proper stallion husbandry, and there isn't. If that's the way things work, then I hope the horse is well cared for etc. I know I opened a whole can of worms, but there are parts of the industry we need to learn about.

    Teaser Stallions

Maybe I disagree with it due to the fact that a breeding farm would take that cheap route out-(not that most mini stallions out there sell for cheap), plus if he didn't have his own mares to service, he would in my eyes be 'pent up'-energetic in more ways than one. I do agree that some...

    Teaser Stallions

I'm in tears of what I heard outside this forum tonight. I learned that it is cheaper in more than one way to have a mini stallion at a big horse breeding facility. Not only are they cheaper to feed, it's less expensive when they get kicked in the face/etc, and suffer injuries. It's 30% less...

    Teaser Stallions

I'm all for rescuing from auctions--or just rescuing in general. Both my little rescued misfits 'came to me' so to speak. I received phone calls about both of them, and as far as i'm concerned I could manage at least 2 or 3 more . (runs out to hug her little fuzzballs)

    Teaser Stallions

I did think about that, and yes it could quite the cushy lifestyle for the little guy. I always thought that if they ever got sick of him, they could geld him and send him up to me . I always have room for another 'rescue'. I found one stallion in the classifieds, but kept my mouth shut about...

    Teaser Stallions

Hi everyone, Thought I would bring up this topic, as i had an email from someone asking if I knew where to get a mini stallion to use as a teaser for thoroughbred horses. Am I not the only one who thinks this is cruel? I point blank stated that I did not think there would be one self...

Tachycardia and the love of my life

Hello everyone, Thank you for all your prayers and well wishes. I wanted to let you know that he went back to work, and is stating that the doctor he has keeps denying him the treatment he needs. I personally think he should get a new doctor as that one seems clueless. I would have replied...

Tachycardia and the love of my life

He's home, and he wants to clear this up: He has..... Supraventricular tachycardia Information on that here: Link to information . Trying to get him calmed down healing here if it wasn't for dealing with the police due to neighborhood crime. Someone cut my pagewire fence and almost let the...

Tachycardia and the love of my life

My one, my only has a terrible condition called Tachycardia, and he came home from work today early complaining of the symptoms. He refused an ambulance saying it cost too much and luckily our neighbor, a retired Sheriff was able to drive him in to the hospital as I don't drive . I'm so...

Telus Internet Has Full Access To Your Computer

The "allow remote access" on my computer was off due to the fact that I disabled it last time I reinstalled Windows XP ( I do every time since I don't need it). That's why I am so baffled by all of this.

Telus Internet Has Full Access To Your Computer

I'm still trying to figure out their terms of service, but I don't think any written document besides my 6 digit # gave them access. I saw my mouse move before that though, so I figure that # was for legal reasons. It makes me sick to think they could have access to my computer 24 hours a day...

Telus Internet Has Full Access To Your Computer

I apparently went over my 60 gig internet, even though we were quoted Unlimited ADSL High Speed 2 years ago when we signed up. I received a letter tonight that came from 'abuse@telus,,,,' stating that indeed I had used over 200% of my 'allotted' bandwidth. I stream a heck of a lot of internet...

    Salt block chewer

I feed timothy hay twice a day (a flake and a half per feeding/per vet's orders because of Buddy's weight), and Buddy does have the company of my other miniature and a goat. They have about an acre of turnout. They could be bored, as I have not been out there a whole lot lately due to the cold...

    Salt block chewer

Hi everyone , My mini Buddy has been chewing on his salt blocks and now ice since it is -13 Celsius or worse outside. It also seems that he has taught my rising two year old mini mare Sweet Pea to bite/grind the salt block. She used to lick it like any normal horse, but by watching Buddy...

    Freezing Water Buckets

I once read an article where people used big tires used as hay feeders for horses, and the horses bit chunks off of them and colicked (sp). When we first moved here there was a plethora of tires here, and I had my ideas until I remembered that article. My mini horse was chewing on chunks of ice...

    Freezing Water Buckets

All I can give for advice is keep the bucket at ground level with shavings and hay around it with the warmest water the horses can stand. That will at least give them a few hours of drinking time before the buckets start to freeze. I have a goat in a stall tonight that i am trying that approach...
