Personally I would find a shipper who could get her there the fastest...the more stops, loading/unloading, stabling at unfamiliar farms is going to cause the most stress and potential for injury. I know I can get from upstate NY to mid-WI in about 17 hours...not sure where on the east coast...

Was she sold as a brood mare prospect or with a proven production record? If only a prospect, did you have her vetted by a good repro vet? I'm thinking after 5+ years you're going to be out of luck with getting a refund or exchange on this mare even if there were some guarantees in your sales...

Can't you email them back to see if they actually sent him to an auction, and if so which one? Auctions have to keep records, so with some leg work you could still track him down.

Just wondering if anyone has expamples of stallion breeding contracts that they would be willing to share. I'm hope to have something basically written out first before having my attorney approve it...Most of them I'm finding on line deal with AI and shipping, but that would apply in this case.
