    Another rattlesnake attack

Here in AZ rattlesnakes are numerous. I got myself a few guinea hens and I have not seen one snake (knock on wood) this year. I have chickens and they would alert me to the snake but they won't attack it. They just pointed them out so I could kill it! Guineas eat snakes and they patrol our...

    Question about placenta

I actually had an AQHA mare foal yesterday morning and she had the same thing on her placenta! I had never seen that before and didn't really know how to explain it to the vet. My mare retained hers though. It finally came out after 7 hours just as my husband got to the vet to pick up...

Ok, now that I've had time to start thinking a little more clearly. Here's some new pics of little A.P. He and Beast got to venture up to the back yard for some grazing and playing time yesterday. Oh, and I looked at Beasts papers, her reg name is "Jomiko Foxy's Elegant Replica" She is by...

LOL! I'm so sleep deprived I don't even remember Beasts registered name! I still have 2 big horse mares to foal out and they are toying with me!!! The sire's name is Dances With Fire, my brain just completely stopped when I tried to remember my own horses name! I'm not all that good with...

Finally! After all these years on the forum!

I can announce my first mini foal!!!! We've been breeding Paints/AQHA/TB's for many many years but never a mini. So, last year I bred my mare, Beast, a grulla mare to a buckskin and white pinto stallion. On April 27, we were witness to our first mini baby's birth! Thank goodness we were...

Miniv here is a photo of the Alaska rescue

LOL! A saw the thread and thought, OH NO! Not another Alaska marathon trip! Joy is doing great, I just body clipped her last week, she was going nuts rubbing her Alaskan coat that she still insists on growing on the fence. She feels great now! Her right rear leg gives her the most trouble...

    Pastern problems

Save yourself and your beautiful little baby a whole lot of heartache and just get the Magic Shoes! Don't waste time with trying to do homemade braces if you've never done it before. The ENTIRE leg needs to be supported, not just the weak point. My little dwarf, Cinnamon, spent a year with...

    Here He Is......Details and Pictures!

Good for you! :aktion033: How DARE people let this happen! How DARE that auction let this poor little soul suffer on their property! I'm so sick of this stuff happening  Please give him a hug and kiss for me, I'll be thinking about him.

    Remember Joy from Alaska?

Pregnant??? No way! Just fat. She has lost a lot of weight the last couple months but now she's a huge fur ball so you can't really tell until you dig down into the hair. There's no way that little mare could carry a foal.

    Remember Joy from Alaska?

Joy is doing great! She has a hitch in her git-a-long but she motors around with the others. Here's some pics! Here is Joy, Cinnamon and my 33 year old AQHA mare grazing in the back yard. Old Granny got tired and decided to take a rest. When Joy first arrived here, Granny took her under her...

With the terrible news of Mary  I thought that some good news might be in order. It finally warmed up here today and I put Phoebe, Joy and Cinnamon out in the arena for the day. Take a look at Phoebe's back now! :aktion033: And remember those ram horn hooves?? Well, here they are...

    How do you....

Ooops, sorry about the above reply, kinda went too fast. Anyway, when I used to show my APHA colt in halter he would do the same thing. My trainer gave me some great advice. As you come to a halt, gently push his head away from you, to the right and hold it. Don't push so hard as to turn him...

How late is too late to register?

Really! :aktion033: I'm registering AMHR and have no idea where the parents are so that's why I ask the DNA question. I also have AQHA and APHA horses and we have the DNA testing issues to be dealt with. All my mini's have been purchased already registered so I just didn't know what I could...

How late is too late to register?

If a person were to buy a 2 1/2 year old horse and the breeders certificate were signed and supplied, is it too late to register? Does the sire, dam and foal have to be DNA tested or anything? The date of birth is in June 03.
