Mini Donkeys for Sale in Texas

Does anyone have any donkeys ( mini ) for sale in Dallas/ Ft. Worth, Texas area? I not that close to getting one, we probably won't. But as most of you know, we are battling with some meaness in the pasture and are mildly considering to purchase a companion. I personally would prefer a gelding...

    Will Gelding help ?

Well, we gelded our jack because of meaness also. He wasn't really a problem toward the horse, just toward us.....which is unacceptable. I can't say it really helped, but I do think Owen was proud-cut. I would ask the Vet if it would be okay to geld at this time. My donkeys were not dropped, and...

    Show Halter Ideas

I like the Arabian mini halter, but it might look better all silver. I purchased a mini leather halter for my donkey at a very cheap price, and I love it.It has held up great! If I were to use it in show, I would probably add silver conchos or something. But you did say you weren't too big on...

    Losing Teeth

My donkey is 1 and 1/2. I was wondering: When do mini donkeys start to lose teeth? Oh, and how can you find out? Do they usually lose them eating, or just lose them? Thanks in advance! Donkeylover110

I have never really tried that, though I have considered it. I guess it doesn't matter since it's too cold any way ( 20s) . Thanks for your help!

    Bathing help?

My mini donkey is scared of water ( like a bath ). When ever I tie him, he keeps walking around the object. I even tried having someone hold his head. He doesn't mind the shampoo, just the spraying water. I can understand him being scared, so I try not to be angry at him. Any solutions?

    Flat Back

    Biting Problem

He does NOT want to play. No, he was not proud-cut and I was standing right by his head. At the time, he was not fully dropped;but the Vet said he could still proceed. I really want to get him a little gelding aroung his age and slowly get them in the same pasture. But, I guess we don't have the...

    Biting Problem

I have had him since December of 07. He didn't start until he got a little older. He has an Arabian mare, and there is antoher mare next to us. I haven't done really any training with him at all. I agree that animals should be friends. I honestly think that sometimes he wants to play.....but...

    Biting Problem

I have a 1 1/2 year old mini donkey gelding. He was getting mean, so we tried gelding him. No luck. When ever we go out in the pasture, he tries to bite our ankles and rears! The Vet said it he was old enough to geld, and I don't think he's proud-cut. We have to use a light carrige whip to keep...
