    Pedigree look-up AMHA

We have purchased a new young stallion and I am interested in finding out what all his lines are. Lazy Creek Rowdys Dark Prince A221735 and R 330208T. His parents were hard-shipped into R, I believe, so the big pedigree would be under the A registration. Thank you very much!

ASPC/AMHR stallion to breed to AMHR mares

Would it make any sense to get an AMHR/ASPC stallion to breed to my AMHR only mares? I want to refine the mares and get babies with with more action. Have people been doing this or just breeding ASPC stallions to ASPC mares? My mares are B sized and several drive. I have sold all my A mares, and...

    Registration look-up and Color Question

We leased a blue roan stallion last summer, and bred him to 3 outside mares. One of them foaled a couple days ago. The dam is a red roan and the filly is a PINTO! Can 2 roans produce a pinto? If there is pinto a ways back in the pedigree, can it express itself at a later date? We have a pinto...

    Diet for Stallions

I have two stallions that are both quite portly. The newest, Smoochie, looks like he will foal with the mares. I also have a coming 2 year old colt that is getting porky, and I would like to get them both down to an appropriate weight. Can I start a diet for them in the winter? I thought they...

Filly keeps laying down and can't get up.

A friend's two year old filly is having a real rough time. About 5 days ago, she started laying down and she could not get up without help. The vet was called and he ran panel and said her levels and organ function looked fine. She does look real weak in the hind quarters. Very little muscle...

    My donkey has Tetanus!

My 2 year old donkey gelding has tetanus! He was vacinnated for it in the spring. He was gelded 2 1/2 weeks ago, and the bacteria entered thru the gelding wound. Vet's used to give an tetanus booster when animals are gelded, but no longer do, because the shot can cause kidney failure, and...

A Question and A Happy Dance!

Well, I have got my driving mare that has the 2 1/2 month old colt beside, driving again! She was first trained last fall and seems to remember everything!!!! We either tie the colt to a fence (with hubby right there and watching him) or who-ever is not driving, walks baby around. We have tied...

    Long lost cousins?

We took our yearling stallion, Westwinds Spotz On Impressive Lites, to an open show today, so my hubby could practice showing him before our mini club show. We ran into a big horse, that just must be related! "Presley" placed a respectable third, under a QH judge, who really liked big behinds...

How long should horses drive as singles before becomiing a pair?

I have a driving mare, that was trained last spring and is really doing very well. We've been taking lessons from a woman who used to show Standard-bred in CDE's, and she really loves the mare. Our first show (AMHR) is next week-end, and I'm really excited! We also have her dam, who was trained...

Appy Breeders--Need help with this one!

Hi there, my name's Ole Country Roads Frosty Tumbleweed. I started life as a solid chesnut colt. I'm now about 6 weeks old, and yesterday Mommy-Wendy (as compared to my Mummy-Silk Stockings) had me clipped--now I look like a poodle! However--Mommy Wendy says "more importantly, a poodle with...

Let's see your favorite, personally owned Buckeroo relation

Like so many, I am very saddened by the passing of the great Buckeroo. Many of us, big and small, are fortunate to have his offspring or horses related to him. Wouldn't it be neat to post a picture of your favorite, personally owned Buckeroo relation, to honor him! As a tribute. This is...

    Got Spotz?

We won this boy in an auction in Nebraska on Saturday, and I was going to try to stay cool, sit on it, and not announce it for a while--but I can't help it!
