    National Drive

Hi, I have gone for the last 4 yrs and had a blast. I have met many people from different lists and made new friends. I also learned alot from the clinicians. Every morning starts out with donuts and coffee and a drivers meeting describing the days events. After an initial safety check you...

    Lurkers...

The internet is like a double edge sword. It has opened the world to us and given us the ability to communicate, information, and best of all SHOP! I have met new people online and later in person....Leia is one example. I got to meet her at the National Drive after chatting on another forum...

Pictures from the drivers seat :)

drove yesterday at a park that is a reclaimed landfill. Nice trails through the woods and lovely ponds. I had never been there and it was worth the gas! The pics does not do the tree colors justice....last few nice days of fall.

Pictures from the drivers seat :)

Yep, At the national drive, 2 of us had Smart Carts. I found mine through a list member selling hers. They are very nice! I have driven it at an AMHR event, but I had a feeling it was not well accepted by the judges although it shouldn't matter. I keep searching and have bought most of my...

    Best driving bit?

Leeana, that is the same bit I use on my welsh pony and it works well. Let me know if you have questions about harness. I can lead you to local and national vendors that have suitable tack depending on your needs. Happy driving!

Pictures from the drivers seat :)

AAAHHHHH the sun is finally shining after 5 days of rain. This is probably peak for fall color. Hope to get some driving time in today or tomorrow. I am lucky as I have dead end country roads and some trails I cut in my limited woods. But the best is driving with friends no matter where...

Pictures from the drivers seat :)

Fall is usually a beautiful time to drive in Ohio, but lately it has been more like Seattle....notice the last picture...dark clouds, wind and sprinkles. Leia, that is Harley and I to the right of Leeana. It is really the best to be driving with friends no matter what the weather. Jan Dunn...

    Trailer issues

I have a 16 foot stock trailer with a center gate. I use the front half as a tack room and can put my pacific for the mini with wheels at the front of the trailer and my pony road cart with wheels at the center gate. I have a wire shelf across the front that I put items on, and also can tie...

    Myrna....

Myrna, how tall is she? I have a 45 inch welsh I am having trouble getting a saddle to fit. I can get his girth but it doesn't really lift off his spine when put to. Much of his tack is mini mixed with pony. I love her movement!!!!

Let's see your turnout - for fun and education

Here is a pic from last week with my new mini at an open pleasure show.. A pacific smart cart, with camptown harness. I was late for the class so I did not have time to put my apron on properly. Got a third in turnout and a first in reinsmanship-which I was thrilled with since this was the...

    Conformation Question -built downhill

I think Rogan would do well with the right driver or trainer. He is my personal favorite and smart, smart, smart! Awesome mover, and pretty in halter. but I am out horsed with him. He is wasted with me and my limited talents. I am actually learning alot with this mare, and could probably...

    Conformation Question -built downhill

just an update-this mare is not going to work out. she is like a different horse in harness-very worried and insecure...either really green or maybe an accident? It would be a good year my friend feels before she would be ready to go. So back to the drawing board and search. PM or email me if...

Hi, I also live in NE ohio but on the west side of Cleveland. We are having an open mini show this Sunday in Wellington Ohio. It will be a good option for you to meet people...from serious AMHR exhibitors to backyard and 4-H youth. The Fairgrounds are on Rt 18 just west of Rt 58. We will...

    Conformation Question -built downhill

Thanks for the input. I have been looking for the CDE VSE....and I drove 6 hrs to see this horse....not quite what I had as a picture. But she has a great mind ( unlike my hot head gelding) and tracks up pretty well. More green broke than I expected and a little shorter than I wanted. But I...

    Conformation Question -built downhill

Hi, I have been on the lookout for a mini to drive at ADS events.. I found a 6 yr old mare that is forward, has nice neck and shoulders, broad chest, big hip, good legs. The biggest flaw is she is built downhill. She is definitely higher rumped. and long backed. It doesn't appear to affect...

We did it! We did it!

Ok, Leia, How can you bottle up all that knowledge and share with me. I would like to be able to do have of what you did with Turbo on the ground. I did start clicker training for reaching for the bit. Saw that on your facebook. Works well! Can't wait to see Turbo in action! Cathy
