Aerocrown/Minicrown folks - what height are your horses?

I absolutely love my MiniCrown. My driving mini is 32 3/4", and it fits him to a tee. The only thing I would caution about is getting the shafts set properly and tightening them properly so they dont slip. I found out the hard way on that one. Other than that I certainly have NO complaints...

    Opinions needed...

Yours is not the first horse that I know of that has done the same exact thing. The one that I am familiar with was supposed to be driving trained by one of the top trainers. He went along for awhile and suddenly broke in two, kicking the cart, bucking, running off, turned the cart over and in...

    Shafts on my new Aerocrown

The shipping is the killer. The shipping on mine came out about the same way yours did. However, isnt it fun to get to peek into the crate and see your new cart?. Sure beats having to lay out all the pieces and try to figure out what goes to what. I think I have the shaft problem solved...

How many driving horses do we have here now?

I have two here. Cody and Cooper. Cody is a great down the road guy. Nothing bothers him. He will go for miles at a good clip. Cooper is a country pleasure horse. He currently is being trained for dressage and CDE events. So far, so good. Georganne

    Shafts on my new Aerocrown

Congratulations on your new AeroCrowne. I know you will love it. I just got my MiniCrowne and it sure spoils you to have something so nice. The only problem I have had is with the shafts. One loosened and somehow managed to go back into the "receiver" about 2 extra inches and then got...

    BIG LONGSHOT

Thank you all so much for you thoughts to bring Tuffy home to his girl. He was found about 10 miles away clear across town in a pen. I am not sure, yet, how he ended up there. They have gone to pick him up and get him back where he belongs. I contacted everyone I could think of and drove and...

    BIG LONGSHOT

I know this is a big longshot, but Tuffy is missing. He is the companion to a special needs little girl, and we need to get him home to her. He is a sorrel gelding with no white, 32 inches tall. Missing in Canon City, CO north end of town. He is strayed, missing,or stolen. If anyone sees, or...

    long lines length ?

I made mine out of 5/8 " cotton rope from the hardware store. I bought two snaps that would accomodate the rope and spliced it in. The length of the lines is 15 feet. I love them. They are soft and dont slip in your hands. I let the tails drag behind when working. I liked the size of the rope...

    Feeding Beet Pulp Pellets

[For my two cents worth-- I feed a mix of beet pulp pellets and alfalfa cubes plus a small amount of grass hay. I would be scared to death to feed this mix unsoaked. I agree that choke is a major problem. It takes just a few seconds for a horse to choke to death. It isnt worth the chance...

    Stall Curtains

The best idea I have seen is to put a header at the top of the curtains that either a 2x4 or a PVC pipe fits through. Hang them on stall brackets at the corners. My big horse trainer had his fixed that way, which made them super easy to hang. The 2x4's or the PVC pipe is easy to find a place to...

    Weight matter?

Well, said. I like the statement "What message am I sending?". I have a real hard time looking at some of the very large drivers driving a small miniature horse. It is obvious that it is a strain on the horse, whether they think it is, or not. Wouldnt a bigger horse be a better choice? In...

    Bad Weather

I neglected to mention in my earlier post, that although my horses are always inside at night, they are not really stalled in a small stall. I am fortunate to have a big barn, that was originally an inside round pen. I found it more advantageous to use it for something other than a round pen...

    Bad Weather

My horses have never been out in a blizzard or a big rain storm. I dont want to stress their systems if it is not necessary. They are always inside, tucked in their pens, with heated water buckets and food during storms, and at night. I guess they are spoiled, but that is the way I take care...

    Drives Me Nuts

I was not going too answer this thread, and then I decided I just as well. I have three horses that have multiple names for several reasons. One has two names that are prefixed by the ex owners farm names. I didnt care for either name. Since that horse came to me, out of a broodmare band...

Protecting yourself against dogs while driving

Wasp spray works wonders on chasing dogs. Anything that makes a lot of noise might make the situation worse. The spray wouldnt be noisy. I do carry a hiking pole that has a pretty sharp end on it. If need be you could poke a dog with that. Ammonia in a good spray bottle is another thought...

Way old news. This has been taken care of and is not longer an issue, thank goodness.
