    Names Thread!

My little 30" Silver Buckskin is named Little Church's Call Her Blessed. Which makes me giggle, as my family is Jewish.. Barn name is Blessing, which fits her very, very well. :wub

yep, minis can really be smart - watch McKee do "scent" work

Scent work? I think this guy is smart enough to read his name!

What color patterns does she have?

WOW! I'm not a wildly colored horse fan, but I love her!

If you could have one big horse...

Well, I still have one of the biggies I did junior hunters on, but he's older now. No specific horse (Even though that stallion is amazing!), but I would love a baby by Skorpio. They aren't the most careful of creatures, but he passed on his good mind to all of his babies. I actually used to...

    Finally remodeled the "Mini Van"!!

Can the ramp be stored in back so that the horse has more room and doesn't get squished if the ramp slides?

Ever had the unpleasant need to repossess a horse?

~Lisa~ even if there is no bill of sale that has exchanged hands? That's wild.

What I did with my Kaitlin drawings!

Love Rosie's curly mane. <3 I still want to get the one of Blessing put on the van (If we ever find one) for when she goes on visits to schools and hospitals.

    A Happy Topic

He should be made into a stuffed animal! I actually think I had a stuffed horse that looked just like him when I was little.. So cute. Is that little black one in there Raven? And Poopy! Remember her story, guess I have been lurking here a very long time! Edit: WHoops, it's Binky, not Raven.

    My herd--in thick winter jammies

Blessing says "Hi Mama! Julie keeps taking me on these awesome adventures! You would be so proud of me!" :wub

    My horses aren't very vocal

My biggie doesn't talk to me when I walk in the barn, but when my mom walks in he is all about her. I think because she always has treats for him, that's the only thing we do differently. I always groom him when she rides and I rode him for years before she did, yet he only talks to her. My...

    Favorite Blankets?

Why is choosing a size so hard? I always have this issue! Blessing is only 30" tall, but measuring form chest to butt is 46" and would seemingly require a large sized blanket. Does that seem strange? (Talking about the Kensington Roustabout and one of their sheets.) ETA: Just ordered her the...

    Favorite Blankets?

Sliding is definitely a concern for me. Hmm. She has one blanket now that doesn't slip, but she has beaten it up, so am getting her a whole new outfit while I'm at it. I don't like the leg straps because it's just so much for a little munchkin! It is even a lot for the biggies... Do you do up...

    Favorite Blankets?

Thinking I'm going to pick up the Roustabout with the hood and one of their sheets. Of course my little one measures at 46" from chest to butt so is on the cusp of two sizes, argh! :ThumbDown

    Favorite Blankets?

Hey guys, I have a mini who is going to be clipped because she is going to be going on hospital and school visits soon. We aren't going all the way down to a summer coat, but because it has been super chilly here I want to get her a sheet and blanket to have on hand before we do anything. What...

    skiddish mare

I have a mare from a fellow forum member who is a saint and a half. Kids climb all over her, play with her mane and tail, swivel her ears around, stick fingers in her mouth and she doesn't flinch. However, the first few times we went to blanket her (Karla's barn stayed warmer than ours does!)...

Pawing the ground what does it mean

I completely agree with Bunnylady. A few of the biggie show horses at my barn will stand on three legs while eating. It is a dominance thing, at least as i see it. They are poised, just in case anyone should try to steal their food. Some are worse than others. One will hold it up while the...

Look What Santa got me for Christmas :)

Look at him! Love that face. :wub

I saw Santa and YES I cried again

The funny thing is that woman who plays Mrs. Claus is a graduate of my college. :OKinteresting A whole bunch of us got to meet her in October. She's so nice! :yes

Does your mini have "temper tantrums" or "pouts"

Blessing only has fits when it comes to food. Of course. There is a treat bucket in the aisle of the barn where seh is now and she stops dead when I try to walk her by it. If she doesn't get a treat, she stands up on her hind legs. Doesn't strike out or move, just stands up for a few seconds...

Nigel is Ready for a Stroll

I am in the Finger Lakes as well and hunting season is in full swing by us. I worry about the biggies who live outside in pastures that back up to the woods. Mini is in a paddock in the middle of the farm so she is fine, but god idea if she goes for a jog.
