    Slicking down mane

Ultra hold hair gel is pretty cheap. Using a slinky after their bath will work wonders too.

    Converting Harness

Depends on the style of harness. Do you have photos?

    Minis and goats

Goats also cannot eat grain made for horses because of the copper in it I believe.

Ok so I was deleted on facebook ?driving class judges

I have no idea the context of this. Are you simply wanting to automatically disqualify the first and second place horses to axe the two most extreme moving horses?

    Slow Feeder hay nets/bags

My shetland pony has the standard Hay Pillow. I really like it but wouldn't share it between horses. I'd get one for each horse.

Question for those who show in AMHR.....

    Flip Flops

To make your own.... Cut a 9" section (more or less depending on your horse) of thin green garden hose and fold it in half through a 1" metal ring. Duct tape the two halves together. Attach the ring to a leather (or PADDED nylon dog collar with a piece of baling twine or other...

    Flip Flops

I've seen lots of the flip flops (Rubber garden hose) and I don't think they really slap the horses legs.... They are usually too short to really strike the horse. I think they just make the horse hyper aware of their feet and get more exaggerated action when they are on... And thus build...

    Training to set

You can train them to set their hind feet by touching the hip and the front feet by squeezing the withers if you train them that way. I've seen it more with the Shetland ponies, that's where I picked up this trick. I don't know why mini people tend to bend over and hand-set the feet. When I...

    Artificial Insemination information

I agree with Kendra... With the ultrasounds, collection and shipping fees and insemination attempts, it's expensive. If you're hoping to create a $40,000 andalusian foal it's worth the extra couple grand it might cost to create the breeding as well as reduce the chance of injury with a live...

Locks of Love for cancer patients

My hair is very long and when it gets to my butt I cut a length off that can be donated to LOL. It takes a couple years but I've done it many times.

    Keeping my stall dry????

I also use barn lime (Sweet PDZ brand) as well as the pelleted bedding where my pony likes to urinate. I have a box stall with mats, so absorbency is important.

    Some questions about senior horses

Their skin and coat definitely change (think about humans and dogs!) Desitin is great under the tail, and consider getting a crupper cover that is kind of fluffy to prevent sores. Cushings can cause coat changes and I think gets common in older horses?

    observations of the horse industry

Margo... A hinny takes after it's mom so they are more donkey like. Mules are more horse like? That's what I've heard?

    Foal Care Advice

Congrats! The filly can eat and drink anything it's mom does. I'd wait a few months until worming, but do deworm the mare right away! I'd wean anywhere between 4-6 months, depending on the situation. She is very flashy! Does look black appt with a blaze to me.

    Roan sock?

The Andalusian mare at my barn has this. She is solid black otherwise. Her colts show signs of sabino roaning so I've got to guess its a genetic anomoly related to that?

What is with all the 'show pictures' being very wonky??

Not everyone knows how to set up a horse "properly" or to its best advantage. Not everyone knows what good conformation is or what "show/breeding quality" is. So yes, you're going to see it.
