Barn & Bed Down Photos! Where do your horses live?

Here is where my mini's used to live. Barn was custom built for them but would still work for full size horses or other animals. Barn was 30' x 90'. Inside stalls had rubber mats for flooring with shavings on top, attached feed bunks and automatic waterers. The boards between stalls were...

    Sales gone bad...

Perhaps the websites viewed had old information, weren't updated or something. Bad business to put those issues out for public scrutiny. I had to smile thinking of my experiences about purchasing a mare and getting the wrong one. It actually happened twice, both with black mares and both with...

    Red Cell dosage

Our vet recommended Lixotinic over Red Cell. The cost of Lixotinic is pretty high....anywhere from $69 to around $100 a gallon. But, it goes a long way. We had a mare that was borderline anemic and gave her 15cc Lixotinic once a day, just syringed into her mouth. She loved it and was the...

    Bond Peppy Power

The legendary Bond Peppy Power passed away yesterday. He recently suffered a stroke and seemed to be getting a little better but that was not to be the case. For the last few months Peppy has resided with Tammie Nuttall, Winning Ways Training Center, in Oklahoma. In his retirement home with...

    Thousand Oaks Ranch................

Val, good luck at Nationals, I'll be watching the placings! The sorrel appy mare foaled a solid jet black filly. She appears to be early and is a little fragile right now. The snowflake appy mare, Ginger, foaled this pretty filly...... All are Lancelot babies. These were my last mares to...

    Thousand Oaks Ranch................

I've been waiting for one of our mares to foal for what seems forever since it's so late in the year. Certainly no disappointment to welcome this colt into the world! Dam is an Orion-bred loud black appaloosa and her colt looks like her mirror image as they run in the pasture. Here's the...

    Head Hunters

I think our stallion, Thousand Oaks Sirs Lancelot (Cross Countrys Call Me Sir x Lazy N Red Boy x Rowdy) has one a very pretty head and passes it on to his offspring. There are many examples on my website but here is Lancelot and some of his foals............

    Thousand Oaks Ranch...............Sad Decision

We have worked for 12 years to put together a herd of outstanding miniature horses. Sadly, the time has come when we have decided it is in our best interest to sell all of our horses and slow down. We have a few special horses to find homes for such as the legend Bond Peppy Power and an IR...

A very anticipated foal is born at Thousand Oaks Ranch

His cannon bone measurement was 7 3/4" which puts him at 33".............so, we'll just have to wait and see. He does have a lot of leg and he'll be AMHA/AMHR registered so either way it's OK Sharman

A very anticipated foal is born at Thousand Oaks Ranch

The foal below is out of a maiden mare who is Rowdy/Orion bred and the sire is Buckeroo/Orion bred. We've been so looking forward to seeing what this particular cross would produce and we're certainly pleased. He's unnamed so far and is nearly 2 weeks old in these photos. This boy has lots of...

    Mare Won't Eat.............

She is being treated for ulcers and seems to be responding well. She is eating hay and grain though not drinking as much as the vets would like. I went to get her tonight and storms in our area were so horrible so I turned around and came back home. I plan on getting her home tomorrow...
