Must we have such pale, nearly unreadable forum text colors?

Of course, as most know, I am amongst the "hard of seeing," but much of this forum's essential text (page numbers, "posted by...", "Select a maximum number of 10 tags...", etc.) is so light as to be barely visible. Even with the text blown up to 300%, these are not readable without eyestrain...

    Any experience with these folks?

. I just came across a site that is new to me: Patty's Pony Place, a cart manufacturer out of Edmonton, Alberta. http://www.pattysponyplace.com/index.html I know nothing about them, but I'm fascinated by some of their products -- especially the sleigh runners pictured on their New Stuff page...

ADDED--Extended version of 2013 Budweiser commercial (see #10)

. I admit it...I'm a total dweeb and teared up over this one (even though horsepeople will be bothered by a couple of things). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o2prAccclXs&feature=player_detailpage

New photos of Norah, our Great Pyrenees/Maremma puppy

After having four or five dogs at any given time over the last 12 years, we were down to just one (Billie Holiday, our Maltese), and the faux farm was getting too quiet. In one day, we went from quiet to riot! Meet our newest addition: Norah Jones, a ten-week-old 7/8 Pyrenees, 1/8 Maremma puppy...

Great videos with Prince Philip and combined driving

After the intro, these videos follow Prince Philip' 4-in-hand Cleveland Bay crosses and two pony 4-in-hand teams through the first driving trials at Sandringham. These are both entertaining and educational. INTRO & PART 1 Pour yourself a big cup of coffee (or tea, since this is British) and...

    Libraries, bookshelves, rooms with books...

. I've discovered a new addiction (in my world, what's worth doing is worth overdoing!)... Since we're in the early planning stages for the small house that we will build, I've been scanning the photos in Houzz.com for various concepts. As you can guess, one of my favorites has been looking at...

Making them earn their keep...haha (Faux farm work questions)

. Even if our farm is but a faux farm, there is always plenty of work to be done, and now that we've bought a big, macho chainsaw, we'll have a ton of firewood to haul to the woodpile. You know where I'm going with this...I want to make use of our resident horsepower. In the future we'll get...

What are your favorite book stores?

What are your favorite book stores? I love a great book store as much as I love the books themselves. Not so much the ubiquitous megastores like Barnes & Noble (although I love those, too), but the unique, quaint, little stores that reflect the owners' love of books, and the used book stores...

What songs did your mom (or dad) sing to you? (...a spin-off of another thread)

I loved in another thread where people were talking about a song their mama sang... What songs did your parents sing to you? My mother's favorite bedtime song was Bushel and a Peck [/media]When I was just a wee little lad, Full of health and joy, My father homeward came one night And gave...

Mingus takes a holiday (a drive on Puget Island)

This past 4th of July, Keith and Mingus and I travelled over to Puget Island on the Columbia River for a salmon feast and pony drive. My brother's future mother-in-law, Nina, had wanted for some time to meet Mingus and to go for a ride, and since her birthday was July 5, this was the perfect...

I really do have other horses -- here's proof!

Contrary to popular belief, Woodwinds is home to more than just Mingus! I posted these on Facebook, but thought I'd add them here as well. So...here are recents shots of our other horses, Viewcrest Pastorius (Flash) and Cherry Hills Scarlett Ribbons. Flash: One of Flash's nicknames is...
