    I Did a Thing...

What a bad mom... Yesterday was National Hackney Day and I didn't even give Falcor a cookie! I'll make up for it today, I promise. We've been together for a bit more than a year now and I've grown so fond of my wierdo. He's got a heart of gold, is very proud and loyal. I'm curious to know if...

Hi all, New Member, Georgia here!

Welcome @Nanslilsanctuary and what a fun "lil" herd you have! There's loads of information and from experienced mini-horse persons here. I've learned so much with my tiny misfits. Sending greetings from Alberta, Canada!

    Therapy Pony

Aaand I got word late last night that they won the contest and will be sending a cheque for $4000 to the Stollery Childrens Hospital, in Edmonton. That's pretty amazing of them.

Help figuring out if my mini is pregnant, please

It's so sad when we get to know people and their animals and they leave the forum. I would have loved to know if she was in foal or just plump. Could you imagine a tiny mule baby from that cutie mare? Oh well, hopefully everyone is safe and healthy.

    Preparing wild land for minis

Congratulations on your new journey! That's so exciting. I'm afraid I don't know what native plants are in California or what will work best to break ground for fencing, but I wish you all the success in it! Aside from all the people, I really enjoyed California when I was there about 8 years...

    Therapy Pony

We had a different kind of visit last week. Funny how things work out. We'd originally had the day booked to be a site visit for a care home, but they had cancelled. About 30 minutes later, I got a call from the manager of the Delta Hotel, downtown Edmonton. You see, it's Canadian Finals...

Welcome @EmilyDuncan and congratulations on your new friend! Driving is so much fun, I've quit riding! I would get your new little on probiotics before and continue after the trailer ride. And ensure she's got hay to munch on for the whole trip. How far is she coming?

    2024 Hours Driven

Saturday Falcor went for 45 minutes in the hay field ALL BY HIMSELF!! Even out back where he couldn't see his friends! Phillippe went for 30 minutes. Sunday Jasmine went out for 30 minutes with Ali and her friend. So much giggling and squealing by the girls. Her friend had never driven in a...

    Weaning time

@LostandFound Sweet mamas, I usually have broodmares who, after the first weaning, are happy for that gate to be open so they can go back to life with their mare herd. They're often done being moms! I can absolutely identify with that!

Pregnant,or maybe Haybelly. What are your guesses ?

Hopefully the pregnancy goes well and she remains healthy and happy.

    Mini Blankets

What location are you in? I'm in Alberta, Canada and a lady whose business name is "Small But Mighty" does mini, pony and donkey wear. I really like what she builds! I've got driving quarter sheets, rain sheets, fly sheets and winter blankets from her. And I get to support a local small business!

    Weaning time

I really like that technique too. For us, we never breed for just a single foal. When it's weaning time, we simply close a gate between two pens where mares can come to the fence and nurse their foal if they want to, or they can ignore them. We leave them like that for about a month and then...

    New farm!

@Walt's Fault stay safe and take care of each other! It's certainly a passion cause that you're helping so many souls that depend on generosity of others. How incredibly fortunate that you've been able to find so many good homes!

Pregnant,or maybe Haybelly. What are your guesses ?

Ah, it must be fall. The time of year when so many posts of "does my mare look pregnant??" appear. Firstly, thank you for giving a home to this darling little girl. And you're right, you never know until you know about exposure to a stud. Hopefully your test can give you some peace of mind...
