    Foal with scrotal hernia?

Well, the vet just left. Turns out I'm an idiot and he doesn't have a hernia at all. Very good news! :D He had two pea sized testicles that were dropped when he was born that went away at day 3. The next week he had something dangling that I didn't think should be there. She is convinced it's...

What sweethearts! You must be so excited.

    Acorns!

If you can't get any electrolytes maybe just a teaspoon of salt? It will help keep them drinking too. When I can't find horse electrolytes I use gatorade with sugar, not the sugar free. I've dumped the liquid in their water buckets or the powder in grain or most will just lock it out of my hand...

    Aggressive with Grazing Muzzle

Is your grass slowing down now? Possibly he's not getting as much and he's not as impressed with getting it on? I have muzzles on most of mine and almost all of them put them right on but I have a few that need a bribe. You might try dropping a small slice of apple or carrot in the muzzle before...

Thank you so much for giving them a home! ❤ Do you have any pictures of them? We like pictures 😊

    Teeth

At that age I would assume she was losing teeth and not worry about it. If an older horse was doing it I would check if they had lost any molars. They would need their teeth done every year if they had but that's not normal until they get to mid/late teens or twenties, some do, some don't. It...

    Teeth

I just have mine checked in the spring when they get their shots and float whoever needs it. Normally you will notice them dropping feed or chewed up hay if they are really bad but if they are checked once a year or so you'll know before they get bad. It depends on the horse for how often they...

    Acorns!

I don't know if there's anything to do after they've eaten them, your vet will know, but I'd put a lot of hay out so they have something better to eat instead if you can't move them. Please let us know how they're doing?

    Feeding seniors

If you do end up having to try her with oats you could always give her a small amount of rolled oats(oatmeal) from the grocery store so you don't need to get a big bag. If your guys get hung up on their grazing muzzles or halters at anytime just put a shoelace or cable tie or anything like that...

    Feeding seniors

Could you try putting extra hay out and leaving grazing muzzles on the others for part of the time? I have one who's foundered twice and wears a muzzle when extra hay goes out, he's good at using it and still gets hay just not as much as the others.

    My Mare is Possibly Pregnant.

Why don't you and your Mom go to? If it's a reputable auction you will be able to talk to the owners about them and handle them either the day before or morning of. You can see if there's one you 'click' with. You can bid yourselves and have it arranged for Squirts owner to trailer back for you.

    My Mare is Possibly Pregnant.

Ugh! I hate winter, we've already had two frosts and they're calling for it again tonight and tomorrow. 🥶😩 I've used to nets quite a bit and never had anyone get stuck in one. If you tie them they have to be where or in a way that they can't get a leg in the tie string. I don't know what else...

    My Mare is Possibly Pregnant.

Hahahaha!! I'm betting on hay belly and happy pony. Have you ever tried slow feed hay nets? The little ones do great with the ones with the 1 inch holes. You can fill 5 and tie them but leave to ends loose and just throw them out for them to move around or tie them so they can't throw them out...

You must have it fixed up nicely by now! LOL! Good for you taking it seriously and looking after her. Hopefully everything will go without a problem but you'll be there if she needs you.

You must be so excited, she's coming home soon! Any luck finding her a friend?

    My Mare is Possibly Pregnant.

I wouldn't worry about cushings unless she is REALLY hairy all summer and has extra weight everywhere not just her belly, she's young for it. A hay belly is absolutely fine, it's just large amounts of forage in their gut, not a weight problem. What do you worm her with? I don't think it's gas...

Madean mare do you think she is ready she is very sweaty

I did 4 months of foal watch this summer waiting for my little one, I'm the wrong one to even guess on that🤣, All I can say is it will happen, normally when you've given up and can't speak in full sentences any more 😂
