    Your Drive Day

Thanks Marsha - and I am sorry to hear about your hand!

Average price on a mini horse very similar to one like this?? Neices is wanting my sis to get her one for her bday but we are clueless to prices. Ty!

In Colorado, unregistered ones are usually around 500-800 these days, 1000+ if trained to drive or leadline. Sometimes you can get super lucky and get one for 300. That is what my gelding cost 8 years ago and he is the best pony ever, but I did hit the jackpot with him.

    Harnesses for A sized minis

Oh wow! That harness is beautiful too! I will definitely apply! I really think I should replace the one I have. I realized yesterday while cleaning it that the leather is kind of.... fraying? where it has some cracking on the girth from being dry when I got it. I have been oiling it every week...

Crafting for minis or other animals?

I made this parade blanket for Chaos! I was representing the library in a lil mini parade this year. I used velvet and felt. It has a chest band and a crupper to keep it in place, but it did move a couple times so I think it needs a girth. I also made him a leather bronc noseband. I would love...

    Harnesses for A sized minis

Yes I am worried about that! He managed to get it off one ear this past weekend, but he was good and I hopped out and fixed it, and tightened the throat latch!

    Harnesses for A sized minis

Sounds similar - there are no wires in my stays either, so I have a velcro strap to the browband to keep it in the right place, and luckily the noseband does not gape. Do you know where to get a browband that small? I didn't see individual browbands on sites I checked. I think I will watch for a...

    Harnesses for A sized minis

Thanks, I was worried about that! I printed a measurement chart and will be taking measurements. I really would like to get an expensive one, but don't think I can argue too expensive yet. Maybe I can trim down all the hanging straps and just replace the brow band? I have velcro loops keeping...

    Your Drive Day

Oh great! How old was Zorro? I don't want to push and tire her out. Echo is very well halter trained, she is a pro at walks with us luckily. So did you just tie to the back or hold the lead? The trainer suggested tying to the side to the hold back D ring so she could watch and learn. Want to...

    Your Drive Day

Oh gosh, I really hope you get some rain. We had terrible fires here in Colorado this year, but luckily the snow last week finally got them under control. We had orange skies as well and ash on our cars all the way in Denver. We only got to drive once this week today, as work was really busy and...

    Harnesses for A sized minis

Hello, Wondering if anyone has suggestions for brands of harness that are $200 or less ideally for A sized mini? I have a generic 'mini' sized one I am using now, and have punched enough holes in to fit, but the browband sticks out a ton and does not fit well. I do not show, just pleasure drive...

    Creating a dry lot?

A track would be ideal. I wish I could have one, they are so good for hooves, horse health, behavior! They are big in the UK. They are also called Pasture Paradise, so that might help you find more info. I believe there are several books you might be able to request from your library. Paddock...

Cute! Keep us updated on the hardshipping - my new weanling filly is also a pinto and I was thinking of doing the same!

    Mixed size teams?

Wow awesome team! And that is great to hear, thanks!

    Mixed size teams?

So I am predicting our new filly is going to be bigger by at least 2-3 inches from our gelding. I am thinking I will someday want to drive them as a team. I know it will be fine, but I am curious to what this kind of difference looks like, and if there are any issues? She is just a weanling so I...

    What's your favorite weanling feed?

Great thanks! I already have some senior, so that is an easier solution. My feed stores also don't carry foal feeds.

    Your Drive Day

Thanks I definitely will Cayuse! Hopefully I can get some pics this week. I was having too much fun to stop and ask my hubby to take some.

    Your Drive Day

Hah, no he is the most gentle sweet boy, though very clever and not a fan of other boys. He is such a doll that even the trainer wanted to keep him, as does pretty much everyone who meets him. That is the shortened version of his registered name - Bondes Bouncin B Glorious Chaos. The only Chaos...

    Your Drive Day

I am so excited! I drove my Chaos for the first time today! He just came back from 30 days of training on Monday, and I had 2 lessons with the trainers other horses while he was training. So it took me a bit to get him all harnessed up right. I then ground drove from behind the cart around a the...
