    Wheee! Driving hours 2023

Billy went out today in the sulky. We got a rocky start. He is very calm until he feels something behind him. We ground drove for 1/4 mile until he settled down. We started down one of the rural roads I like to use and I saw 3 porcupines in the road ahead. I had pepper with me, and of...

    Therapy Pony

Love these stories. One interesting one with Dapper Dan was a blind man in a wheel chair. He ran his hands over Dapper Dan, and when he got to the ears he said, "yep, it's a horse". I was worried also about Dapper Dan in close quarters, as he was sort of an ornery boy. But when he was in...

Yes, I've had those boots for more than 20 years. Very comfy. They are Larry Mahan. They've been half -soled once already! After that long walk in them recently, I may need to check the soles...

I saw him with his horse trailer yesterday driving a lot. I thought he was buying/selling horses. He called me yesterday evening and asked if we knew who could bury a horse. He knew we had lost Dapper Dan recently. I was shocked when I heard the reason he was out and about with his trailer...

That's only part of the skeleton; another piece was broken off. When I first saw it the rattles were still on it. Thank you for the compliment on our yard. We can see a house from the other side; it is nice to have neighbors. My horsey neighbor just lost a horse last night to colic; I saw...

I tried taking pictures of our back yard with the wild flowers, but it needs a wide angle view to really show it. Here is a view of our back patio. And a skeleton of a roadkill rattlesnake that was tidied up by turkey vultures.

    The Funnies!

Not a funny, but I thought the photo was interesting. I like looking at the various ways working horses are harnessed.

We are invited to return to the nursing home next month. Do not know if Billy has ever done anything like that. I guess I can give him a try and if he seems too nervous we will just leave.

Looks like some interesting terrain. Guess you won't be calling up that gal and suggesting a drive together any time soon.

    Jeffrey’s update.

"Donkey steps"! What a great saying. I like that better than baby steps!

Well, her dog Luna did tricks the whole way, waving at people, and getting petted alot. We worked different sides of the street.;) But, yes, Billy did get a lot of attention! He enjoyed it. It was interesting to me to see him walk along so calmly, ears up, looking around, on the loose lead...

Billy wore the Cavello glitter boots. They don't fit as well as the Easy Boots or Equine Fusion. I would not want to drive with them. The closure looks like it would be really good, but there is something about them that don't fit just right. Billy stumbled a few times; I tried redoing the...

    HPR 2023 Foals!

So sorry to hear about the loss of your foal.

We did the parade yesterday with Billy. A disappointing venue as there were not that many spectators and we didn't get a lot of scary interaction--maybe that was a good thing. Billy did super. He was alert, but interested. Lots of people petted him. I'm glad I only walked with him, as it was...

Help with some ground manners during PARADES!

Wonderful photos! Bet you wowed the spectators! I'm going to try the looser lead with Billy today, as he is a "hugger" also.

    Pinworm Treatment

my Exodus box says 900 mg up to 300 lb. Each milliliter contains 171 milligrams pyrantel base as pyrantel pamoate. Mine got 1/4 syringe, which was 900 mg. I cannot remember if I did a double dose the first time. 3 milligrams per pound of body weight. Does that help? I found a little whiteish...
