Willapa is now 6 months old, and is great with cleaning her front feet, but will not hold her leg still when I pick up her back feet. She will kick out, even when I hang on. At some point she will need to be trimmed, how do I get her used to this?

My 6 month old filly is overly friendly. When she is in her pasture, she gallops over to see me, and will sometimes rear. I feel she just wants to play, but I worry about turning my back on her. How can I make her respect my space, without making her fear me?
