Well, a mare with a torn uterus is also a problem. But, that is entirely another story. Can't believe you would post here! Most important part is that the horse is now being registered correctly. BREEDERS BEWARE - UPDATE RIGHT AWAY! I know from now on I WILL BE UPDATING IMMEDIATELY.

    OWNERSHIP

Yes, a BIG lesson learned. But, breeders should understand that once an individual pays you for a horse and you sign the transfer, what they do with that horse (breed) is their business and you are no longer the legal owner, you have SIGNED A TRANSFER with the registry. The owner can turn that...

Just some of my own thoughts and feelings

Susan, I bet a majority of mini owners agree with you! Yeah for saying it out loud :aktion033: We are a small breeder in the south and we do enjoy showing too but as a social worker I find that pet therapy is alot of fun and great for my patients. You see, I work in a Mental Health facility...

    OWNERSHIP

I did call a good friend that I trust and knows me VERY well and she believed that the two breeders that falsified the application could be in trouble too. I did what I was required to do to register the foal for the new owner. It's not my fault that they "jumped the gun" and tried to register...

    Sorry if this sounds stupid............

Don't forget Hemlock Brooks Egyptian King!

    OWNERSHIP

Songcatcher- it's not the "registry" that has given me a problem. They were perfect and corrected the problem. The problem is the folks I bought the stallion and mare from (2 breeders that know each other). Instead of asking me the situation they went ahead like they owned the mare and...

    OWNERSHIP

I had a situation where I had not updated a couple of horses and they produced a foal. I went to update the papers and register the foal and the previous owners tried to send in a registration application and let the new foal owner re-name the foal. The registry called me because they had two...

    OWNERSHIP

Just a question that I am curious about...correct me if I am wrong, but...if you PAY for a horse and have the transfer signed by the previous owner, and you take possession of this horse, isn't he YOURS?

    WCMHR

We already have two registries, most breeds have just one. We will reduce the value of our horses when they can be registered in any "mini" registry. Folks will be developing their own "registries" and selling horses as "purebreds". What we do need to do is make the registries we have...

    Upsetting situation......horse that I sold

Fiona, I wish you were closer to me. My vet will do it under 200 but we are in the southern US. Please keep us posted on "Reds" progress. Let us know if you get him back. :

What do you do to get some spunk in your horses?

I agree with most of the posters here. Feed sounds like needs some adjusting. I have a yearling filly and we have added Born To Win to our feeding program and now I can't keep her still! We should have named her "firecracker" :new_shocked: Can't wait to show her this year. Good luck with...

How to decide what to breed?

I agree with most of the posters here...there are some faults that common sense tells us to stay away from, here is my list:   Cryptorchid (stallion) Bad mouth (over or underbite) Extreme cow hocks or knock knees High in the rear end Ewe necked Narrow in the chest Extreme length...

    Upsetting situation......horse that I sold

Just a little advice from humble me...I had a simular situation when I was a teenager with a large horse. My dad wanted me to sell one of my two horses and I had to choose. The colt I sold was one I had raised. He sold the horse to a "friend" that promised to "take really good care of him"...

    Sad news

I lost a colt too this year. My first live birth that was lost. He died 2 hours after birth. You made the right choice for him. He and my little "cajun" are running together on Rainbow Bridge! So sorry for your loss. :
