Ill add my personal opinon on bio vs leather. I personally will never use bio/beta over leather because leather can and will break. Now that might seem backwards but if you get in a bad position, horse spooks, flips etc (goodness forbid that happen, I personally have never been in that position...

I use a leather overcheck bit (along with most of the people at the barn). They seem to really like the leather vs another metal bit in their mouth. An overcheck vs a side-check work very differently so saying you can use either on any horse I dont believe is true, some horses do better with one...

I got my starter/work harness from Star Lake, super affordable for a nice leather harness (nice enough to show in if you wanted to do that). Like Marsha said, the bridle is the hardest part to find a fit, and honestly no harness maker is going to make one bridle that fits all so I feel it is...

You should really contact the company who made the harness...if I get something custom made, it better fit custom made.....no excuses for it not fitting. Even if you just order a harness online not custom made, you usually can return it if it doesn't fit.

Oh I agree, miniatures shouldn't be shown like a QH, they are not QH type build, but many, many of them were parked out like a saddlebred.....arab type is what they should be shown like....

OK, as some of you guys know, I board at the world renowned Patty Cloke manages, she is retired from training/breeding/showing, all things miniature but still runs the barn. She has these blankets, Shires, I believe, for the minis that have attached necks.....Well, we do not have them in the US...

I did see it more severely in AMHR, but I was seeing it in AMHA as well, and I saw maybe one judge ask one horse for a reset. Don't be shy!

It went great! Super easy, he is sore today though. While he was down the vet was able to get hes pesky wolf tooth that no other vet has been able to get out, so unfortunately the poor guy got it from both ends yesterday

I am going to agree with Jean_B, it totally depends on the type of show you are going to but as far as a halter class goes, this is the kind of halter you should have to accentuate your mares head. If you show in halter obstacle, hunter, jumper, that is when a western style halter is used.

I dont know how many of you attend or have watched any of the AMHA or AMHR shows. I was watching AMHR nationals last week and now the AMHA world show. I noticed in the halter classes there is a lot of parking out and stretching going on..... I thought they were supposed to not be stretched??? I...

Yes I guess it would depend on the bridle, as for most bits, unless it is just a snaffle.

I don't think it was anywhere on the site last year either, but yes, it is iequine, you can watch it online or they have an app for your phone as well.

I agree! Bits are totally a personal preference kind of thing, as well as what your horse likes. I have trained one horse that loved a bit I would never use on any other horse, but that horse LOVED that bit.. so I let the horse pick haha! To answer your question on the myler, the top rectangle...
