First experience with a wildly aggressive little stud horse

Aww, glad to hear he was doing better. Hope he continues to do so. He sounds like the gelding and the moving, all so close together, really upset him.

First experience with a wildly aggressive little stud horse

I'm like Chanda and my first thought, when reading your post, is he was just gelded and possibly in pain and feeling vulnerable with being brought to a new place, with new horses. He may be an aggressive mini, but it may also be that he is hurting and nervous over everything that has happened to...

    'Saddle' bags for Miniature Horses??

There are Panniers for goats and other animals. Google "Panniers for goats" and several places will come up.

Need help with products(Treating mare with ulcers)

I use to give 2 tbs. of aloe juice, that is from Walmart too, twice daily, in mash, to my 32" mini. Worked great. But that isn't what the OP is asking...I know nothing about the products mentioned in their post.

    Nutrena Feeds, a good choice?

My mare is on Nutrena's Safe Choice Special Care, and looks really nice. Coat is shiny and she seems to thrive on it.

    Standing in the rain

I'm not worried about it. I can't stop it, so I just look at her like she is crazy. LOL She will stand out in it, when we are getting an absolute downpour when she has a perfectly good shelter to go into. Like I said also, before...I put her hay in there, and she is in there when she is eating...

    Standing in the rain

What gets me, is she stands out in the rain, and then after a couple days of being wet, her choice, she acts like she is mad at me, like I am the one controlling it and making it rain. lol

    Standing in the rain

I've done that also..ran my fingers all over and down at the skin, to make sure she was dry and she seems to be. I don't blanket or clip, in winter. It is her head and forelock that makes her look so miserable.

    Standing in the rain

I put her hay in her shelter, so she is in there, when she is eating. But she chooses to rest outside, and get drenched! LOL I also, run my hand through her coat, on dry days and check for rain rot and keep an eye out for scratches and such. Glad to hear my girl isn't the only one that does this.

    Standing in the rain

How many have mini's, that would rather stand in the rain, instead of standing in their shelter? My mini gets totally soaked, and it isn't because she doesn't have a dry place to stand. She looks miserable. I know it won't hurt her, but I would rather see her dry. I mainly watch for shivering...

    Trying something new(to me)

I'm new to the board, but not new to reading it. Just new to being able to reply. Anyway, I had tried something like this before, and couldn't get my mini to quit overeating, but, it did teach me that such tiny feedings that is always suggested, just makes them scarf it all down faster, which...
