I have so much to be thankful for! Family and friends, good health, two good jobs for my husband and me, my herd of horses and pets which include our two CMHR adoptees, Winnie and Velvet. I thank God that I live in a country that's free and protected by our devoted soldiers and their families...

CMHR $3 Mission: Ozark Dec. Donation PG. 29

For all the veterans and their families who sacrifice so much, the words "thank you" just don't seem to be enough. But I will say them anyways: THANK YOU!!! My father was a veteran of WWII and the Korean War. I've also been doing a lot of genealogy research and have learned of veterans in...

Use of Small Mesh Hay Nets?

I have used the Busy Snackers with the 1.5" holes for close to 3 years now; each horse gets his own net. I still use my original ones but as I've added horses I've bought more nets. I don't hang them as I prefer to have the horses eat with their heads in a natural grazing position. I use them...

    28 HORSES STARVED TO DEATH!!

There is a Facebook page that someone has started. There are some very disturbing photos on the site. Save the Whitlock Horses What a horrific situation. I will never understand how these things happen.

    David Sheldrick Animal Trust

Congratulations Matt! I've known of the David Sheldrick Animal Trust for years. It's an amazing organization and its work is so admirable. I saw a story on TV about them many years ago and was impressed with the commitment of the elephant guardians.

where should i go for a beach vacation?

Hawaii! I just love it there. I've been to all the islands (inhabited ones) except Molokai. That's next on my list. My husband used to have sales meetings there every year and I was lucky enough to get to go. I think we went about 12 times. Good times. I sure miss that perk!! Each island...

Connie Parr CMHR President in Hospital

Connie, I am so relieved to hear you are home. I do hope you let others help you now so you can heal quickly. I can't imagine the pain you were in, and having to crawl for an hour and a half to get help is just awful! So glad you have your sister nearby. You'll continue to be in my thoughts...

    Biggie Mare Help

Me too! (I don't have any experience with mares-in-foal, but the difference between August and now is quite pronounced in just her abdominal region. Her hind end doesn't look larger, either--the place beside the top of the rump--which would indicate that she was just fatter and not preggers.)...
