    Appaloosa ???

He's a silver chestnut. I wouldn't say appy, and not a silver dapple either. The silver gene modifies the normally chestnut color on the mane and tail. You might notice his legs are lighter too, especially when clipped. His mane is beautiful, but I'd just suggest keeping it thinned and...

"Lethal" Defects in my Mini Stallion

It appears from the photos..especially the last one, that the mesentary is also attached "inappropriatly" to the colon, in sync with the reduced area of the small intestine. It could be that the mesentary issue contribted to the the malformation of the small intestine in that area. When that...

Is your filly still having pipestream diarrhea? If so, please ask your vet to evaluate her for colitis and clostridial infection. BioSponge is an excelent product to use for diarrhea but the cause should be determined in case she has a bacterial infection and needs a different course of...

    Corneal Ulcer

At the equine hospital where I work, we treat corneal ulcers by placing a catheter that allows meds to be administered directly into the affected eye. Usually, the catheter line and injection port are braided into the mane for easier access. We alternate between a Gentocin fortified...

    Hernia

You can palpate it...feel it...and see if it is solid or if you can gently push the contents back into the abdomon. Likely, if you the can push the contents back in, it could be a small loop of intestine and should definitly be seen so an ultrasound can be done to determine exactly what's going...

    Management Software

Got a new computer (lucky me :bgrin ) and am looking for a new equine software recordkeeping program. I've had Breed Manager in the past and honestly found it user unfriendly, though I like that it's geared to Mini horses! Is there a newer version then 4.0 available that's better? Looking...

    HELP PLEASE!

Suzy, She's not chewing length, just nice even CHUNKS! So far I think we're ok, especially with wraping it up and some MTG. Won't the RapLast stain? We use it at work and it seems to leave streaks where it was applied. Most of the chew victims has light/ flaxen tails......
