I have been dealing with horses most of my life. I pretty much love them all equally. I had miniature horses in the 70's, but didn't do very much with them. Now, 40 years later, I find minis in my yard again. I saw the website cde4vse, and then my first ADT and I was completely hooked. I started driving with the help of Linda and Bob Smith and a lot of other great new friends in ADCS, AZ.

This was my first season driving my horse, PJ, and I was really pleased with how the season went. Cannot wait for next year!

I also started driving my mom's horse, Rascal. He is not amused by ADTs at all. But he is turning into a pretty cool gaming horse. He loves cones, Darbys and Obstacle Driving. Oh, and he was a pretty good breed show horse - I just don't know much about that. Between the two horses, next season my boss might have to hire someone else!

We have about 4 acres. I have 3 large horses alongside the two minis. Our pasture is getting filled with cones and hazards - mostly pallet type hazards, but also some "L" and "U" and other hazards. I have had to move some stuff from our smaller working area to our bigger 2 acres so I can add unlevel and uneven ground to our workouts. Next year I'd like to add a dressage arena and a water hazard.

To those new to combined driving, I have learned that spending a lot of time with dressage makes for a very successful season. It is good for the horse, helps teach the horse to bend around obstacles, and allows the driver to make some quicker times in the cones!

Combined driving, ADTs, Darby, Scurry, and the pursuit of the perfect dressage score!
