Those sounds like great recommendations for horsey winter reading! I highly recommended Geraldine Brooks new book, Horse. Little known, exceptionally well written historical fiction about one of the greatest race horses of all times, Lexington, and the black trainers/riders who raised him.

I just read through all your posts about Little Rodeo, and I was so, so sad to hear of his pasing, but you were his guardian angel in the final days of his life. I am so glad he passed away knowing love. What a gift you gave to him.

Thank you all! Unfortunately, I am not a sewer. I saw the lead lines on Stateline Tack. I'll look again. My daughter also gave me some tips: rubber, not leather (easier to care for), and with hooks. We live on Martha's Vineyard, and nothing here is reasonably priced! Heidi :-)

Thank you! I worry that our horses don't get enough exercise and attention, but they have each other and a pretty big paddock. Hoping this summer, my daughter will get interested in training again.
