My only little mini mare is out for the season as she is in foal So the lovely owner of Arabella Stud has kindly loaned me this little man to appease my show withdrawals. Meet Arabella Pitch Black (Spud) he is about 7 months old now...I will get some newer photos when we get him home...

He sounds pally with the smut modifier....to check just have him DNA'd. there are pallies out there with very dark coats and even dark legs and a lot of dark hairs in mane and tail that probably wouldn't pass classification as a pally...BUT are still genetically palomino

The "smut" or "sooty" gene is a modifier and acts upon the colour by appearing as dark hairs throughout the coat (usually more obvious on legs). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sooty_(gene)

Be really careful..and do lots of checking. There have been a lot of "overseas buyers" emailing people here with "broken english" ...most of them are scams. If you are considering selling him make sure you checkout the person buying, it may seem extreme but get references etc. Better safe...

you are lucky you just have the 2 we have: MHAA AMPS NMR AMHA and probably more :DOH! ...but we have Miniature Horses and Miniature Ponies. Some assoc are for ponies, some for horses and some for both....just to keep things interesting
