    Slow Feeder "Top' Idea

Be careful with wire. My vet and I just solved the mystery of why my beloved Fjordie had inflamed gums that wouldn't heal. Because I've been feeding her hay out of a hay feeder made for goats! She had been raking her mouth over that wire (smooth bars, mind you, just hard) and keeping her...

    Our "Mini Van"

That is VERY clever and very cool. What kind of ramp do you use, and how do you store it in transport? -Kristie

    Freddie

He'll let me touch his ears, but he doesn't like it. I was worried that once I took his halter off that I would have trouble getting him to let me put it back on, but thankfully it was not an issue. I'm looking forward to seeing him all shed out as well! -Kristie

Feeding flaxseed and how much for mini?

So I've got little Freddie now. He's a good weight now, lady I got him from was feeding him HE Hi-fat and hay. I feed my other horses a little flax and would like to for Freddie, too. His tail has been chewed/thinned by something and I think flax could help recondition his coat as well. Do...

Let's see your all time favorite standard horses!

Beautiful horses and stories you guys. I currently have my all time favorite horse! Izzy is a coming 7 year old Fjord and I've had her since she was a weanling. I've trained her myself and though she's far from perfect, I'm very proud of her and love her very much. -Kristie

    Freddie

I haven't been on this forum in a LOOOONG time. Not sure if anyone even remembers me, but I used to have a mini mare and mini donkey that I would post about now and again. I needed to downsize a few years back and gave them away to a great home. Since I have been down to only two big horses...

beet pulp and grass are wonderful things

I don't post here often, but some of you may remember me posting about my mini mare, Sugar, a couple of months ago. I let her get too skinny over the winter and her crest collapsed. I wanted to share some updated photos of her. Not tooting my horn here, as it's my fault she got into bad...

    Rehabing my own neglect

I don't know if you remember but I posted about my mini, Sugar, a month or so ago. I let her get way too skinny over the winter and her crest collapsed. She is looking better. Still not where I want her to be by a longshot, but I understand putting on weight takes time. One of my...
