What to feed nursing mare with thick crest?

I have a maiden mare that recently foaled. She has always been on the thin side so I've been making sure she has plenty of hay (free choice) and I've been giving her approximately 4 qts of Blue Seal Mare & Foal per day. She's 37" and approximately 350-400 lbs. I noticed tonight that she has a...

POLL CROSS ENTERING OF ASPC/AMHR HORSES AT SAME SHOW

I have a mare I hardshipped in this year. I had to have a judge inspect and sign off on her being measured, and he looked her over and checked her bite.

All this AMHR/ASPC stuff has me wondering...AMHA

I've been a little busy and haven't really kept up much on all this stuff, so I apologize if it's already been discussed. But with the AMHA closing its books to hardships coming up..next year? I think, I assume this is to make it more of a "paper breed" and less of a strictly "height breed." So...

POLL CROSS ENTERING OF ASPC/AMHR HORSES AT SAME SHOW

So I guess I'll be an odd one out on this topic. I think it should be allowed. If my horse has both sets of papers, why not? I don't think overexerting a horse will be any more of an issue than it is now. Any good horse owner will know their horses' limits and keep their best interests in mind...

    AMHR shows for 2012

The only one I know of is the one in Cumberland, ME June 23, which unfortunately is the same weekend as the Area 1 show in NY. I was hoping they would have a second one in July again, but so far it doesn't look good.

    Barns

Thanks! We're thinking of putting the ComfortStall mat stuff down for the stalls. Has anyone used that before? And my bf really wants to eventually put the SmartBrick stuff down in the aisle, but I'm not sure how I feel about that yet. We had planned on doing 4' walls with wire covering the...

    Barns

We're in the process of building a barn, and I wanted to see what others have used for footing on cement floors? We'll be putting down rubber, but does anyone have a company/product that you would recommend? What would you put down in the aisle? Also, what do you have for doors? We're debating...

    Opinions wanted

Thank you everyone for the feedback. I tried to think of everything I wanted to see on a website and set it up that way, but I know different people like different things. Ideally someday I'll have professional pics of the horses, but it's just not in the budget right now. Although on the plus...

    Palominos

Here's my goober, a Buckeroo son. I love his summer colour, but he gets pretty light in the winter.

    Showing at Nationals

If you're only showing a yearling or two year old in the futurity class at Nationals, do they have to be qualified?

    Homework help

I'm currently taking a Business class and have been assigned the following question: "What image of America do you think is portrayed by its movie industry?" It was in reference to the WTO ruling against China stating they needed to basically allow the United States access to market US movies...

    Just wondering

Wow, after trying to navigate some of these other websites I don't think the AMHR is bad at all! I think I spent several minutes on one site just trying to find a membership app (couldn't find a general list of fees)! I guess it all comes down to what you're used to. Reble - it's on their...

    Just wondering

I think with both magazines available online it's not really an issue of getting information out there. Both registries have an E-newsletter and pretty much any info you could want right on their website. Sending me the hard copy doesn't mean I'm going to read it anyway. I guess I'd rather...

    Just wondering

Why is it there is no option to get memberships without the magazines (Journal and World) and have it at a reduced price? I don't really have the space to keep the magazines nor do I even bother to look at them. If I have questions I can get on the website and info is also sent through the...
