Hello, My name is Melissa and I own a 9yr old 34" silver bay palomino mini mare named Dora and a 18yr old 15hh gelding tenn walker trail horse named Dakota. They live in our backyard in a beautiful small town of Southampton, NJ and Dora is the boss!!

I am new to the mini horse world. I grew up as a hunter/jumper and it is still my 1# discipline. We recently adopted Dora from a wonderful rescue. We don't know a whole lot about her history other than she was ceased from a pony wheel business that was shut down due to having malnourished horses that were put to work without food or water. The business was shut down when one of the ponies dropped dead on the wheel!

We got Dora as a companion for my gelding and for my 2 1/2yr old cousin who has special needs and she abosolutily loves to ride her new mini I have also been working with her on voice commands, lunging, jumping, etc. I showed her for the first time at a local 4h show and showed in showmanship, obstacle, jumping and halter against 3 other minis. We got three 3rds and a 4th respectively. Pics from the show coming soon!

I was given a harness set so we are going to give driving a whack! My ultimate goal is to turn Dora into a driving mini!

I love Dora so much and I am very thankful to have such a wonderful little furry mini in my life.
