Bought grand son of "bissel mounds Monte Carlo!"

Monte is one of my favorite stallions congrats on your new boy! Make sure you do loads of research because mini mares are prone to foaling problems. Join the mare and foal part of the forum on here and the aunties will be happy to help you. And I'd work on her as soon as you get her since you...

    Foal blanket recommendations

Hello lovely aunties. My mare is due in April and here in PA april still can get REALLY cold. Last year it definitely was. I didn't have this problem with her first foal because she was born in august lol! But I'm going to need a blanket for when this one is born and after if it gets real cold...

    Your Bedding Choices

my horses have never actually taken pieces off of the milk jugs....so its not something I worry about. he likes them and they don't cost any extra money...so why not? lol. Obviously if I had a horse who liked to chew holes in things and eat them I wouldn't give them one. But I don't have that...

    Always in the weather!

Mine do the same thing... My big horse is a PANSY if its drizzling hes staring at you like "arent you gonna let me in..?" but my minis nope. Just this morning my stallion was soaked because he was out in the rain last night. My mares were locked in the barn so they didnt have a chance to get wet...

How many use heated water buckets??

Sadly. I don't have heated buckets. So yes. Beating ice out of 14 buckets and 3 troughs is what we do. and I'm in Pennsylvania. Its already been heck. and I dont even have to feed every day. (board at my grandmothers, between her horses, my horses, and my cousins horses we all take turns...

    Need advice: pasture bully

This seems like a disaster waiting to happen. Just because hes the bully now does not mean the big guy will always tolerate it. And even if they were playing and not fighting one playful kick could kill your mini. I wouldnt ever keep my minis with big horses. Too scared. Too many things could go...

    Your Bedding Choices

My stallion didnt have a digging issue but he likes his hanging empty milk carton and his hard plastic bucket lid....lmao those are his toys. Anyway my horses are boarded at my grandmothers. She has 7. I have 4. My cousin has 3. Last year was the first year we used the pellets and I LOVE them...

    Blue Eyes...

Ive never heard of blue eyes causing this problem. Hes probably just got sensitive eyes and the blue eyes are just a coincidence however the fly mask should help. If he starts tearing a lot or something I'd get a vet out to take a look to make sure its not a super serious problem!

    Dexter

hes so cute! Its nice that hes learning tricks too! I'd be careful with the rear though. It could end up dangerous if he ends up doing it when hes not supposed to and if you decide to sell him ever (even if you dont plan on it, sometimes life happens) his new owners will potentially be put in...
