Well we hadnt put Levi's feed out yet but I had fed the chickens in their run that is off the side of his paddock... he tries to pick up stray grain from their scratch if we happen to spill any
We changed up his shelter the other day... instead of the small run in shade he had we emptied a side...
So last night in the usuall routine of feeding the critters and loving on Levi (5month old weanling colt)

ok hes not limping any more, he was limping only when he was trotting or trying to run.... last night he was zipping around again though he was being more careful. Talked to a friend about it and she things maybe he found a rock or something... He is getting used to the halter now... he lets...
He isnt ever left out with the halter on alone I . We usually stay out there with him, the area he grazes in we usually drag chairs and drinks and hang out and enjoy being outside together... the boys trampoline and toys are out in a section of that area and he can play, Levi can graze and...
He is 5 months old.. just weaned and came to us. Been on some pasture(getting sparse here...) and getting alfalfa and some pelleted feed with a herd of 9 before he came here...

So... input needed on if I should worry.... came home yesterday to Levi limping... seemed to be favoring left front and maybe left rear, we cleaned his left front hoof to check and make sure nothing like a rock or anything was in...
I opened a different bale of hay today... still nothing.. he flew out of the gate when I let him out to graze just now. Chomping like crazy now. I might try to alfalfa cubes from TSC if nothing tommorow.
He was happy to show me the bottoms of his feet the little snot.... little dude has...
He is eating the grain fine and grazing/eating happily. He is delighted to get his grain portion and enthusiastic about grazing...
He was getting free choice coastal hay from a round bale, some alfalfa each day I think and grain (trying to find out exactly what he was getting but cant get in...
We brought Levi home yesterday morning ( He is 9 days shy of 5 months)
We are giving him coastal hay nice quality, and Purina mini horse feed.
He is eating the purina mini horse and drinking a decent amount... running around bucking and kicking it up like mad.... The boy has some BUCK...
We brought my little guy home today... setting up farrier for his feet, they really need done.
I am going to give hima couple days to settle in and then worm him. We have spent most of the day sitting outside with him.
He is happily eating and checking things out... our turkeys arent...
What age can foals get the Rabies vacinations? We are having alot of skunks coming up with rabies in surrounding counties.... A friend of mine is setting up to give rabies shots for her horses and any of us that want ours done this weekend, we just arent sure about Levi... he is 4months...
