Where do you haul your cart w/ a gooseneck trailer

We're looking at getting a gooseneck trailer. We have a shortbed truck. Wondering if anyone has hauled their Jerald carts in back of truck somehow ? Have seen some fit them in front of the hitch, but not sure if that can be done w/ a shortbed. Besides on top of your trailer, where else do...

How do you haul your cart?

We sometimes haul our carts in back of truck with trailer hooked. We don't have to un-hook to unload. We jack-knife the trailer (carefully, of course) and can then use a ramp (we have aluminum car ramps?) to roll it off truck.

    What stallion behavior is acceptable?

How do you discipline a stallion when acting bad when out in public? We just recently have a stallion here on lease that we're working with. Since the choice to geld is the owner's and I have no say at this point, trying to learn about stallion behavior. I know he's been shown and around...

    Easy boots

Foxhaven, I would love to know what your opinion is of these boots after you've used them for awhile. We're looking into boots for one of our horses for driving in the hills over rocks and rough terrain.

    pushing on teeth

You're sure he's not "windsucking?" A disorder where they kind of grab a fence rail and tense their neck up making an odd noise. Might look into this disorder and see if this is not what he's doing. If so, it's a terrible habbit that most do not break and many times teach horses stalled with...

    A Bit and an underbite?

Our wonderful Sammy, has an underbite as well. We knew this when we bought him, but his outstanding disposition for a driving horse was our main attraction to him. We have had NO regrets. We drive him in a snaffle type bits. He has had no problems at all. His teeth have been checked and...

    Boots or Shoes for Minis

Would like some feedback for anyone that has used boots or shoes for their Minis for driving. I don't believe the build-a-bear shoes would work, as this is more long drives. Want to try them on one of our driving horses to see if it helps him. He has great, hard, dark feet, but has always...

A or B, which do you prefer?

In our situation, we are drawn to the Mini shows. Mainly because they have so many classes to enter. We enjoy all the obstacle, Hunter, Versatility, etc. The local horse shows, just aren't much fun when you're showing in the same class as all the big horse breeds. The closest shows for us to...

    AMHA Worlds

Not at ALL impressed with this video feed compared to AMHR. Yes, I'm grateful to be able see/hear what is available. But can't hear anything but the people near the video camera talking about their personal lives. Guess they're the only ones doing this???

Gelding older Stallion - Attitude change

I'm sure this has been asked before, but had troubles finding it. I'm gelding a 5yr old this next week, as he has a very "study" attitude. We just bought him this weekend and he is a nice horse w/ nice movement. But he can't concentrate on anything. He wants to fence fight everything and is...

    Judging at Nationals

How do they judge at Nationals? I think I've heard at one point, but forgot. With 3 judges out there they're not giving each judge's opinion, so how do they come up with the placings? I thought I heard it's computerized somehow??? Really enjoy watching the Nationals at home....although tough...

    Stallion neck after gelding

We recently bought a 4yr old Mini Stallion. He is refined except for his typical stallion neck. My question is when we geld him this Fall, does that help the cresty neck? Or it's not likely to change after gelding?

    Hunter/Jumper

It usually depends on your horse. Jumpers class is generally for the horse that can jump high w/ out knocking over the jump. They jump a round and those that have a clean course, will do a jump off and they raise the jumps. They continue to raise the jump height 'til someone faults. These...
