    Gelding senior stallion

I’m not surprised at the comments as he has been a stud for many years. He is with geldings but I can not put him with any other stallion. Over the years my other stallions could be together over winter, but this guy would be with geldings or he has also had mare companions some years. Thanks...

    Gelding senior stallion

My stallion is 26 yrs old and while not used as a breeder, he acts like the head honcho, pacing fence lines, will not tolerate other stallions and goes crazy when mares in heat around. Would gelding, if advisable, take the studiness out of him and settle him down?

    Lost two front teeth- yearling

Little boy got kicked today and lost two front teeth on one side. Vet had to cut off as they were attached by the gums. What can I expect when the permanent teeth should be coming in? From past experience with this forum, somebody has experienced this. Thanks.

    Stiff hind legs

I was asked for help regarding a friends horse. Below is excerpt of her outline of problem and vet action. I told her that somebody on this form has usually had similar issues and can help. I know leg issues can be varied, but any input would be appreciated. "having some problems, we had...

    Could my mare be expecting?

"Tiny and petite(36-38")" . My tiny and petite are 28-30". While I don't US or palpate anymore, foal movement 5-6 months is adequate for me, my vet both palpated and wand us'd all mares 30-34" with no problem.(male vet). Stallions tell me if they are settled. Must be getting old, use the vet...

Vet visit - good news and puzzling info

I would suggest that "whoever" will not help you with due dates. If looking for foal now you should feel movement and she should look pregnant. If not, and you still think she is pregnant , she would foal in October/November . By then you should have evidence from stallion. Show pics taken from...

    Greetings from Long Island NY

Your boy needs some serious "I'm the boss" handling. Stallions can be as gentle as mares or geldings. Thinking that gelding will solve your little rebel would be a mistake. He is also in his equine teenage year, which makes them more rambunctious and they like to "horse around".

Vet visit - good news and puzzling info

How far along do you think she is? At 6-7 months foal movement can easily be felt. How old is stallion? If she is not pregnant he might show interest during a heat cycle.

    Breeding/Stallions

Have been breeding for many years and only hand breed. Process- I take mare to stallion, keeping mare on lead, only when she is cycling. My current stallions are "wham bam thank you ma'am " types, so we are in and out quickly. With mare in heat, stallion will service pretty much as often as he...
