    Gelding at 6 mo's

    As a vet, I have no problems gelding a horse at 3-6 months. I prefer gelding them while nursing on the dam as they have less swelling, mom is there to comfort and reduce stress and a host of other benefits. My own warm blood was gelded at 4 months 17 yrs ago.     Showing geldings

    My 4 geldings are the backbone of our show string :-) And parades, visiting children, etc!! Then there are the jr geldings and ..... Yep, we love them!!

    "Bred for 2013" as a selling point - not!

    Just to stir the pot, the flip side is buyers, I have a bunch of "open by choice mares" for sale and the first thing I am asked by the buyer is "why isn't she bred? What is wrong with her?" At this point/ in this economy, it is a loose loose situation on my end

    horrific case of neglect

    With his will to live and willingness to eat, as long as whoever is feeding him is careful, hopefully he will have a full recovery. I work with the USERL (US Equine Rescue League, www.userl.org; we are in the NE coastal NC region) and see about 20-30 each year this thin.... I have high praise...
