Quilt Show

Recommended Posts

I remember when I was a kid we went to Nova Scotia to visit relatives and I went to a quilting bee and the quilt the women were working on was entirely white and quilted in a freeform of seashells.  Hundreds of seashells.  Could you tell me what that style of quilting would be called?  I dont think it was in squares or peiced together, I could be wrong though. As I remember it, it was just one large single peice with the shells quilted all over it.  It was amazing.

You should be proud of your Moroccan Fantasy!  I hope it soon gets the ribbon it deserves!

That would be a whole cloth quilt that features the quilting pattern, rather than the piecing and color scheme.

That's right, it's a whole cloth.  I've made two large queen sized ones.  This one is actually on my bed right now.  The quilting makes the pattern, you don't piece a single thing.

Wow, that photo shows the detail very well.  That is how I remember the seashell quilt. ☺
