I'm interested in building jumps for my round pen. I'm curious if anybody has any plans or even pictures of some homemade jumps.

I made some two years ago about of PVC pipes but its a flimsy and lightweight design. I would like to make some heavier; maybe out of wood and pvc.

Hello,

I'm planning on making my own jumps too this year! =) I'm using PVC pipes and wood for the stands. Before I make them I want to make sure they'll work out so I designed them. I just whipped up a quick illustration on old fashion "Paint" XD

So anyway,

The stands would be made out of wood. Here's what the bottom of the stand would look like (I forgot to add in the previous pic):

So you should be able to tell what the idea is here, but I can't really explain well XD

I'll build them in late spring and if you're still stuck let me know and I can send you real pics XD

I made X's with 2x4's to the height I wanted. In the center drilled a hole the size of the PVC pipe I was using.. Especially on one of the X's don't drill all the way through just enough to hold the pipe. To set up, set up one X, connect pipe and then set up the other. They are study enough to stay in place but if knocked one of the X's will give away and fall to the side.
