Spooker Show in Glen Rose Texas

Wow great show and we took 5 horses. Jose ended up with 4 grands in different divisions, 2 reserve grands and 1 reserve jr. chapion. Congrats to everyone it was a competitive and interesting show to say the least. Thats the last one for us this year. It has been a long, but sucessful year...

Spooker Show in Glen Rose Texas

Well Jose just called and said there about 180 horses at the spooker show. Last show of the year for us. Hope he does well. Sounds like it is going to be a tough show. LOL

    Convention 2015

There are some ponies that fit the description of a western pleasure horse in the registry and I personally do not have a problem with the new addition. As long as the class is utilized by the folks that come to Congress. I have long been a proponent of eliminating classes that no longer are...

    The Buisiness Side Of Breeding

We have been extremely lucky when it comes to producing and selling our foals over the years. Our approach is fairly simple and that is to produce the best quality foals out of constantly upgraded mares and stallions. We honestly evaluate all the aspects of each and every one the horses in our...

    2015 Congress

Agreed Matt, we have always looked at the measurement log as every horse has to measure in order to show. So who knows. LOL Personally I do not really care, it was very competitive and a lot of fun for everyone I talked to.

    2015 Congress

It was a good show for us also, we didn't take as many as we did last year, but still came home with 3 Champions and 1 reserve also. The quality of the horses was awesome. I really enjoy Congress each year. By far it is my favorite show of the year. Just so much more laid back than Nationals for...

    2015 Congress

Who all is going to Congress as an exhibitor or just to watch. We sent a total of 8 head (client and farm horses) and Jose says it looks like it is going to be a very competitive show to say the least.

    Excede Reaction

Sorry to hear about your baby, sometimes things just happen for no reason. Last year we had a filly that we had really been waiting on and she was fine for 3 days and then just kind of wilted and died within 24 hours. Necropsy on her was done and the vet could not give a reason other than she...

    Split Classes

I guess everyone has seen the rhetoric about the splitting of the driving classes at the National Miniature show. In reading that and watching the driving classes was I wondering even though the classes at Congress are not as large, but from a merely safety standpoint and with our larger/bigger...

    Mares getting big as Barns

Chandab, My only advice is to not get one, Cindy has had mini's for years and I got us into the shetlands. Now the majority of our herd are foundation and small classic Shetlands. Most of whom are R registered alos. For years we did the really little guys and they were fun. But the ability to...

    Mares getting big as Barns

Sorry folks, that is why I live on the gulf coast of Texas, I will deal with the heat for the summer months. But that cold you folks can have. It gets below about 50 and I am inside. I do not know how you folks deal with all that stuff up there in the cold country.

    ASPC AMHR transfers

I consider our farm as a small breeder, at one time we had a herd that was pretty good size (about 190 horses all in all) and it just was not fun. Now days we are somewhere around 35 - 50 including the babies each year. We do not do this for a living and get our enjoyment from the breeding of...

    ASPC AMHR transfers

I like that option, then one of the copies can be filed with the office and be there if and when people try to come back later and pick up the papers. It also would serve to keep horses from running around without papers when they out there laying around maybe.

Just getting started, but here are few of the new babies!

    ASPC AMHR transfers

It doesn't effect me one way or another as we try to transfer as quickly as possible. But I can say it is very aggravating to have horses still on my list of owned horses that were sold in years past. I can also see where it would be a problem if someone was trying to run for the Shetland seats...

    Show Ponies

Cindy, my dear wife was recently ask to participate on the show pony committe. If anyone has suggestions on what needs to be added to make that part of the registry more fun and inclusive, please let me know what the suggestions are so I can pass them along to her for you!

    Mares getting big as Barns

And that is the reason I live in Texas. I can't handle the cold. I would be like a ground hog or bear and hibernate all winter long. Horses or not. LOL
