I have a 38" gelding that I always thought would be a great CDE horse. He has a dressage type build, very up hill movement. He loves to drive! He's pretty quick and agile too, and brave!
Hi all! I just moved to the Gulf Coast area of Texas from Southeast NC and I am looking for some shows I can take my minis to. Most of my minis are not currently registered and I am having trouble finding open shows or shows that don't require registration. My daughter wants to show my gelding...
I recently bought a little mare who came with World Class papers, which from what I hear, don't really hold much weight. My question is that on her papers under her Registry number there is a part that says
OTHER NOS.: AMHA A 166171. Does this mean she is AMHA registered? Thanks ya'll for any...
He is a 12 year old silver-ish stallion. Kind of a rescue deal. I felt really bad for the poor guy, he seems to have had a rough go round. He's been passed around alot. He has a very kind disposition once he gets to know you. Not a mean bone in his body. The halter he had on he must have...
I came across a mini team harness for sale and the bridles had pigeon wing blinders. We used to use these on our mules so I was thinking that maybe the harness was for a mini mule team. Just out of curiosity, does anyone use these with their minis or mini mules for that matter? What do you...
We had a stray that started chasing our horses a few years ago. My husband opened up some bird shot and replaced the pellets with rice. Wont kill them but puts a nice sting on them. If they dont learn, then I'd put the pellets back in.
Thanks everyone! He was a little better today. He relaxed a lot while we were ground driving and stopped chewing for a short time. I think I might try to get him a french link or a mullen.
As ya'll know I have been training my deaf mini to drive. So far heis doing really well. All of our ground driving has been with a halter so far. Today I switched out the cheek pieces on my driving bridle with the cheek pieces on a mini riding bridle so that I could make an open driving...
My boys are starting to coat up too! The days are getting shorter. I'm not showing this year but I will be driving so everyone will be getting trace clips soon.
I have a deaf splash white stallion. Neither one of his ears are white and he is still deaf. She may very well be partially deaf, but I think the balance problems might be something else.
My grandfather used to "throw" horses on the ground. I have seen it work wonders! I'm sure it's not applicable to every horse/situation but I have seen it done and work. I am a huge Clinton supporter. I have used his method on several horses, minis and full size and it has never let me down...
