    Walking/Hiking in 2023

I also got one last hike in yesterday, about 1.5 miles. He was so good even though I hadn't taken him out in weeks. Happy New Year, all!

    Vitamin and mineral brands

Vermont Blend and CA Trace are two good options. I've been using CA Trace (chosen over VT Blend because I needed a pelleted option) for about 1.5 years since I switched my pony off a ration balancer to reduce calories. I didn't notice any changes for the worse switching from TC balancer to the...

Newbie shopping for mini driving bits (Canada)

Chimacum Tack and Chrysalis Acres both have 3.75" bits in several styles and I would guess that one or both of them would ship to Canada. 3.75" is the size that fits my 37-38" pony who does not have a tiny head for his size. ;)

    Boarding single mini challenges?

Mine is by himself in his own paddock, with horses on either side, and he seems 100% happy - to the point that whenever I think maybe I should get him a buddy, I wonder if it would make him LESS happy! He seems to really enjoy having his whole palace to himself. He came from the Amish via an...

Won't Kingston ship wheels outside the US? Seems like that shouldn't be a huge problem! I'd sell you just my wheels but I don't think the cart would work as well without them. 😆

    Walking/Hiking in 2023

About 2 miles with Rowan...well, he probably did 3, he had to go in a lot of circles. Note to self: when pony hasn't been out of his paddock for several weeks, a bridle is a very good idea! 😆

    Winter feeding? Northern Midwest Winters?

I use the 3/4" hay nets from Hayburners. I started with 1" hole nets and he got so good at getting the hay out that it didn't really slow him down at all. I don't get to the barn every day so I typically set him up with enough hay to last a week just in case. When I track it by weighing at...

    Where do we start?!

Yeah, I would certainly be a lot more skeptical of the seller now - I don't think there is anyone in the world that would not consider a past colic surgery a "health issue", regardless of whether the horse has recovered or not. As Lostandfound points out, the risk of another colic is higher...
