Posted by suemahree in Rescued Mares Bea and Maggie, 12 December 2013 - - - - - - · 275 views

It has taken a lot of patience on my part working with these girls this year, they just did not want anyone handling them at all and it was a chore to catch them.  Once caught I could groom them and get their feet done but again it was a chore. I spent all summer doing the Waterhole ritual with them.  They would...

Full Force Ahead

Posted by lvponies in Skipping Along The Yellow Brick Road, 10 April 2012 - - - - - - · 1,300 views

Full Force Ahead In another time, not so very long ago, I had a mini horse farm, Mountain Spring Miniatures.  Life, as it tends to do, sent an earthquake into my idyllic existence, shaking everything up, leaving nothing as it once was.  The barn I was once so proud of, fell into disuse, needing paint and love, among many other things.  The fields, once immaculately...

I can pick up all her feet and work on them with no problems, she can be trusted to walk behind, u can brush her all over, including her belly, and u can mess with her ears. U can put the saddle on her and sinch it up, and she takes the bridle. No...

My Chunky Monkey has been gone a week today. We miss him terribly, especially Art. Art was Woody's human for 22 years. Arizona has settled down, and accepted that his buddy of 18 years is not coming back. He has made new friends with our neighbors horses, and he hangs out in the back pasture at the fence line with them. Godspeed Monkey, wait for me and...

God how I hate winter...but wait, it is not winter yet.

It has been snowing HARD since last night, over 2 feet and counting. :shocked   They say it is supposed to stop by 5:00. Yea, right.  :1857272: :1857272:   It is now 3:30  and it is snowing so hard I can not see to my driveway gate.  I got to try and go out and feed in this in an hour.  I am not sure...

Moving right along

Posted by Mominis in Mominis' Blog, 12 November 2010 - - - - - - · 6,657 views

After quite a bit of lining off of the halter, we moved on to lining off of the bridle without incident.  He's just been great!  Everything so far, we have done at a walk and I decided it was time to add a little trot work to the equasion.  So, back into the round pen we went to learn how to trot, enlarge and come back to the walk/whoa from the...

Fall training with Midge

Posted by The Simple Life Farm in The Simple Life Farm's Blog, 11 October 2010 - - - - - - · 1,218 views

So much has changed on our farm in the last few years. I sold all my minis but 2, and hopefully I will have the time and space to show them next year. We have discovered the ASPC Shetland Ponies, and we have gone full steam ahead with them. Last year, we aquired Buckeye WCF Classical Muzak. He is a stunning 6yo classic black pinto gelding. We also added an...

Yep its that time of year again fall training time! Autumn is in the air and winter is just around the corner.

I often wonder why training posts get so heated? Heck its just peoples opinions and everyone has one :)

I have to admit I am fascinated by training horses and its to me the best part of owning Miniatures and Shetlands. It can be boring...

Freedom of speech interrupted

I would like to start my blog with the definition and facts of freedom of speech which was taken from Wikipedia.

Freedom of speech is the freedom to speak without censorship  or limitation, or both. The synonymous term freedom of expression is sometimes used to indicate not only freedom of verbal speech but any act of seeking, receiving and...

Well, my dream job is just a phone call away.  I've been through the interview and they like me and would like me to come work for them.  Now we are waiting for the Drugtest (scary!) and the background check.  I've never done anything illegal and I don't do recreational drugs so I'm hoping this all goes well.  My fear is that I do take...

I'm not even sure how long it has been since I have been active on LB..I have checked in a few times and left a few replies. I see the foals have arrived! I'm soo excited for everyone who had healthy live foals, and heart broken for those who did not. Art and I have not bred since Ziggi, who by the way, is a spoiled brat. She and Cricket are...
