My son works for a public utility as an urban forester.  There are lots of major power outages caused by trees in power lines, or falling on lines during a storm.

Where I live, birds are always planting trees under power lines.  We have one right now that we try to keep trimmed, but it really should be removed.

Our electric company comes by annually with a cherry picker and cuts back limbs from the power lines.
