Hey! As I stated above, I am new to the forum....well sorta. I used to be on here under a different profile years ago. I had 3 minis and and A welsh at the time. I lost my welsh in 2015 to cancer. I sold my show gelding to a wonderful home in VT when i moved out of my parents house. He was just going to waste and I couldn't have that. It left my first mini, Josh and my moms little gelding, Knight. We just lost Knight back in December to unknown causes. He was at a facility for over a month under 24hr care. We could have opened him up and tested but we couldn't bare to do so. After losing him, it left Josh all alone. It was either find him a new home, or find him a buddy. There was no way I was letting him go anywhere, He is 12 years old and I have had him since 6 months old. We leased a mini mare from a friend of ours but she turned out to be horrible. She beat up on him, bit, kicked, and even kept him from getting water. If he tried to move around the pasture she went after him. The only time he was able to be free was when he was in his own stall at night. My mom had, had it with her, So once again we were on the look out for a friend. I was at work a few months ago, on my break and scrolling through facebook when I got a notification that someone posted in Maine horses for sale page. Turned out it was an old friend of ours that we bought a haflinger of off, back in 09. He had been my "heart horse" and was taken from me way too soon. Anyway, she posted that she had a little almost 3 year old mini mare for sale. Mind you, we were only looking for a friend for Josh, nothing fancy or showy, Just something healthy and friendly. We went to meet her and fell in love with her, Winter woolies and all. Once we got her home I was itching to clip her, and peak at what was under all that hair. Boy were we in for a surprise...

Welcome BACK!

Oh...I love Josh's sweet face and kind eye. And your new mare is lovely! I bet she's going to tempt you into showing?

She is very pretty and he is quite handsome.

I think clippers have a magical quality. After an hours use, presto! You have a new horse!

Sounds like you live in my area, I'm in NH. Maybe we will run into each other.

Thank you! It's good to be back. Yes, hehe she has tempted me into showing again. We will be hitting two shows this summer just to get our feel for it again and show off what she has learned, We are doing lots of ground work as she hasn't been taught much. It's great having a project!

Clippers are quite amazing! Have you heard of NBarH? That's in NH and its where we have always shown. Haven't been in 5 years but I am excited to go back.

Yup, I show at NBarH all the time! I started showing there at the pleasure shows about five years ago so we probably just missed each other.

I've been going to the mini shows three or four years.

Maybe we will meet at a show!

Oh that's too cool! I haven't shown since 2012 so I'm excited but nervous at the same time. I bought both my show geldings that I had off of Jane Colby who shows there. It will be weird going back without either of them. How many minis do you have?

Welcome back to the Forum!

Josh sure looks handsome and WOW & congratulations on your new girl! I certainly know what it's like to "uncover" a surprise. Looking forward to hearing of your adventures as you go out to shows again.

Well it really is a small world, lol. I have purchased two from Jane also over the years. One many, many years ago and another about six years ago. Both were ponies, one a welsh and the other a morgany type pony. I had the first pony 26 years. He was my best friend. We lost him two years ago. He was 33. Jane is great person!Right now I have the welsh pony and two minis.

I look forward to meeting you. What shows will you be going to?

Oh wow! Really is a small world!!! I look forward to meeting you also. Ill be attending the July and August show this year.

Is Josh one of the minis that you purchased from Jane?

He has a handsome little face. Does he drive?
No, I got Josh back in 05 from someone else. The two I got from Jane were Sox and Knight. Sox was my show gelding and Knight belonged to my mother. I did very well with Sox but when I moved out of my parents house he was just going to waste so I sold him to someone in VT. He has a wonderful home there. We were left with Knight and Josh. We lost Knight back in December at the very young age of 6. Which left Josh. That is where Ms. Sassy came into the picture. No, Josh doesn't drive. Wish he did. I just dont have the skills to train him myself.

here is Sox

And this is Knight, he was born at Janes farm.

I m sorry that you lost Knight. It is a hard thing to have to go through. Sounds like you might have had him up at New England Equine? I have been there more than I care to think about.

I am trying to remember if I met him at Jane's when we bought my welsh pony. I think she had a young one then.

The shows will be here before you know it! You should do great with your new girl.
