Well, our Jersey Calf, "Dude", has finally found a new home........Our grown foster daughter who actually owned him, found a young couple with kids who took him as a PET.

He's been banded and I was weaning him off the bottle.......He's eating hay, grain, drinking water.......They said they had a bag of milk replacer

and would keep him on a bottle for another month part time........I gave them the powdered formula that I had left to blend with what they bought.

I also showed them how I was able to lead him around where ever I wanted him to go.

Dammit......He was an added chore and a pain, but I hate not really knowing what kind of life the little stinker is going to have. Yes. I got fond of him.

aww I feel your pain! It is so very easy to get attached to them. It sounds like he has found a good home. I hope they are prepared for the schedule change they have coming and that they realize this is a huge commitment.

Thanks Debby. I think he's going to be okay. The husband was a former team roper, so should know something about cows/steers....and now he's a young dad and wants to introduce his love for them to his kids. This morning I was just thinking about asking my daughter if she'd heard how the little "Dude" was settling in.....

That's good to hear. I always love to see youngsters continue with their hobbies as they enter into marriage and then introduce it to their children.
