Hi,

I would love to see if anyone knew or might have a history about Circle S Miniatures.

I have seen some miniatures is out of Circle S lineage and I am curious about them.

Which I have one mare is out of that lineage.

Who own Circle S Cadillac Jack?

I think he is very nicely stallion and he is out of Bar L's Bright Beginning and Circle S Krystal Lite.

I am wondering if anyone have these bloodline that is out of Circle S Miniatures and it will be great if you shared photos of the miniature if you have out of these lineage.

I did google for "Circle S Miniatures" and doesn't have any website and I am not sure if they are retired and get out of breeding?.... or pass down to the another miniatures breeder?...

I am curious too, I also have some horses from their breeding

I know that their names are Dwight or Jan Strassheim since it is on my papers that they owned this mare and I also am pretty sure that he was a steward or something at one point when I was really young.

I have another mare I just bought that is out of Circle S Daisy

Dwight and Jan of Circle S Miniatures did retire. We own two of their horses...see on our website www.kinneyminiatures.com They shut down their website.

Very nice people that we stay in contact with and they raised some nice horses.

We own Circle S Painted Vegas, a tovero stallion and a black mare named Circle S Shady Lady.

Thank you for sharing the pictures and they are all beautiful.. even with the thick winter coats.. ;)

I always liked to know what the history behind our miniatures and etc..

To my knowledge, they retired a few years ago.
It seem that they did retired but it would be nice to have some people/breeder would need to make a history about them and knowing about their breeding and etc.. As same thing as like Ayer's or Buckroo's and some another lineage.. ;)

Thank you all!...

God Bless!

Thank you and I really enjoy your site.

God Bless!

We own Circle S Billy Cadberry,

He's a super boy who has done very well for us in the showring, with multiple grands, and Hall of Fame awards, along with top tens at amhr Nationals and a national grand in youth open pleasure driving in 2003.

He's a black and white pinto who measures 32 inches tall.

Take a look on our website, www.havencroftminis.com

A few of his "kids" will be in the showring this year!

I wondered if anyone knew what happened to a mare called Circle S Midge,

last I heard she was sold to Canada, there are a lot of really super horses that go back to this mare.

Circle S was noted for their colorful horses, both overos and pintos. A wonderful breeding program with a number of national champions.

We own Circle S Aces High, homozygous black 30.5" stallion. Ace is a brother to Circle S Bill Bailey of Century Farms.......famous for producing Arabian type miniatures, and driving champions. Check our webiste for more information.

Here's a picture of Ace:

and his look-alike son, Dark Arrogance, who is in training this year with Reflections:

Just saw the post above, and wanted to add that Circle S Midge was the dam of Bill Bailey, Ace, and several other well known horses. She has since passed away.

I'm sorry to hear that about Midge, I knew she would be quite up there in years if she was still with us, but I wondered where she ended up.

I did find a picture of her once, it wasn't a super picture but it was the best I found, a pretty black and white mare with a foal.

The Strasheim's are a wonderful family and we were pirvileged to own a mare of their breeding and also to show a young stallion of theirs.

My first contact with them was a video of horses for sale. We were looking at foals. When the dam walked into the camera range she just took my breath away! I told Frank that was the most beautiful miniature I had ever seen.....Circle S Midge. Then along behind came her filly.....Circle S Bright Reflection.

Someone else had first right of refusal on her but Frank told Dwight we wanted Bright Reflection if the other people didn't follow through. They didn't.

We showed Bright Reflection to AMHA & PtHA multiple World Champions. Sired By Bar Ls Bright Beginnings. She now lives in France.

Bright Reflection's daughter by Star Skipper carried on the Circle S winning tradition. She followed in her dam's hoof prints and is now owned by a forum member. (are you out there Peggy?)

We were also privileged to show a young stallion for them. I can't remember his full name right off hand but it was Razz Matazz or something like that. He was also World Champion.

And these are only a few of the spectacular horses that came from Circle S.

I hope more owners of Circle S horses will post pictures for us. They have left quite a legacy in the miniature world and I will be forever greatful for having had the opportunity to own one of their horses.

Charlotte

p.s. Well, I'm just sitting here bawling. I didn't know Midge had died. I never met her in person, but she was truly a treasure of the miniature breed.

Darn it, it seems if I don't post a picture for a while i forget exactly how. Anyway this colt SMO Smokin Hot is a son of Circle S Bright Red Baron and a grandson of Bar LS Bright Beginning. He is a weanling in this picture and now a 2 yr old. Not the best opicture ever taken but I think he does show his genes in the way he is put together.

"Who owns Circle S Cadillac Jack?"

The current AMHA registered owner is Tracy Straton. He was owned for many years by Sheryl Fike of Fikes Minatures.

Dwight and Jan Strassheim are wonderful people and I sure miss the breeders of the famous Circle S horses!

The video that Charlotte mentioned in her response was one that I requested from the Strassheims back in 1998 when I first began my search for overo miniature horses. They had so many beauiful, colorful horses! I chose a frame overo colt, Circle S Brite Lites by Bar Ls Bright Beginning and a 3 yr old mare from them, East Acres Stary Night. Stary Night is simply one of the most beautiful mares I have ever seen; overo or otherwise!

Bar Ls Bright Beginning is now owned by Ron Clough, Ash Creek Miniature Horses in Kingfisher, OK. Bright Beginning is one of the smallest frame overos in existence today!

I am here, Charlotte! It is great to read about all of these horses of Circle S heritage!

I met Dwight & Jan, years ago....

Dwight called me after seeing an article in the MHW I wrote about a "Killer Frost". It was about losing our little 29" Miniature Hereford Bull to alfalfa that had frosted the night before. The article was to alert others to the dangers of allowing grazing on frosted alfalfa....even horses could get sick from it, altho, not to the extent cattle will.

Anyway.....at the time, Dwight had been searching all over the country for the smallest Miniature Herfords he could find. He wanted to start breeding them, and "Tank", the little Bull we lost, was the smallest he had ever seen. I told Dwight he had just been a "pet", and Dwight told me that I had a goldmine in him, and that it was a real shame we lost him. I don't think Dwight ever did put a Miniature Hereford herd together.

Dwight & Jan came to visit, some time after that, to see our Miniatures. They are both LOVELY people! He ended up buying a mare I bred from someone else who had bought her from me..."Kickapoo's Cameo Rose". She was a bright red sorrel with 4 white socks, big blaze & bright blue eyes.

I remember when they retired, and thought how hard it must have been to let all their beautiful Minis go.
